July 2, 2025Jul 2 I get freezing stutters only in FBW a320. Plane runs otherwise well with 50fps, so 10fps more than inibuilds a320 v2. But the stutters make it unplayable for me, heres photo of the stutters what happen: https://imgur.com/a/mZfS4pd Any ideas how to fix that? I have tried: -all lowest graphic settings -reinstall msfs, reinstall fbw -disable simbridge -old nvidia drivers -without flightplan etc Avast gaming mode on disable Rolling Cache run Disk Cleaner in Windows (cleans some caches) turn off HDR10 turn off Photogrammetry use DX11
July 2, 2025Jul 2 Author This happens also with headwind a330 but not with other planes like ATR, inibuilds a320, etc! It's something with FBW.
July 2, 2025Jul 2 Is this with 2020 or 2024? I'm presuming 2020, as 2024 doesn't give you a DX11 option. What GPU? I would try latest nVidia drivers, Rolling Cache 16Gb, Photogrammetry off and DX12. There are other cache cleaner scripts out there (try flightsim.to) that may do a better job than Windows Disk Cleaner - specifically in respect of nVidia caches. If you're swapping nVidia drivers, I'd recommend using DDU (for a clean uninstall) ... then NVCleanstall to manage all future driver updates. I'd also recommend giving AutoFPS a whirl.

Thanks for troughout answer! I have tried the drivers both older and newest, rolling cache, dx12 and photogammetry off. Also I use autofps already! Thanks, I'll try the cleaner thing, although I have cleared Nvidia caches etc.

July 3, 2025Jul 3 A few more questions: 1) Does this happen when in the cockpit or in external view? 2) Does this happen when in the air (ie. very few ground objects)? 3) Once you've panned around 360 degrees, do the stutters go away?

Thanks for answers. 1) In the cockpit I think, I must check again 2) In air, in ground, anywhere. I have autofps and it can happen even with minimum TLOD and OLOD 3) I dont understand😁 2 hours ago, Bob Scott said: Computer specs? Which sim? July 3, 2025Jul 3 Author And sim is MSFS2020! I'll add it to my original post and edit it to my original answer when my messages get approved!
July 3, 2025Jul 3 Author 3) By panning 360degrees the stutters didnt go away. I add more info; I tried with DX12 too, didn't help. I tried with 10 TLOD and OLOD and without inputting any information for MCDU, EFB closed, etc, it still does this.
July 3, 2025Jul 3 Have you changed your SMT setting since installing Windows? I had a similar problem with intermittent severe stutters that seemed to only affect a select few add-ons in MSFS 2020, and I isolated it to my having turned off SMT in the BIOS. Windows 11 was originally installed on the machine with default BIOS settings, and I disabled SMT as part of some config and performance testing. Re-enabling SMT cleared up the stutters, and disabling it again brought them right back, so it's quite reproducible. A BIOS update and a new set of chipset drivers did not help. My working theory is that Windows 11 is not detecting the SMT configuration change and therefore not reconfiguring it's thread scheduler from how it was configured during the initial build. I remember reading that there was an issue with AMD CPUs some years back where the Windows scheduler was not properly handling SMT-enabled AMD CPUs, causing slowdowns and instability issues. My MSFS system is an 8-core 7800X3D on a MSI Carbon X670E mobo. July 4, 2025Jul 4 Author I tried -different power management options -disabling gpu acceleration and gamemode (put back on after) - this cache cleaner: https://fi.flightsim.to/file/65064/fps-4-msfs-simple-fps-tweak-tool And no solution so far! This happens only in FBW a320 so its weird. I have disabled simbridge and synced the FO and CPT PFD's so cpu dont have to calculate them two times (also usually disabling FO screens). Tried to ask from fbw discord for two days, they dont give a F. I'll repost here what I wrote to FBW discord if it contains more info: "Hi guys! This is my last resort, I have searched all material online and havent found solution. The problem is stuttering in fbw a320. I have this weird stuttering, only few stutters some times, but they are super annoying. The problem happens only in FBW products! I can fly Inibuilds a320 v2 with lower fps but no stutters and ATR works well too.I have tried everything, heres list of some of the stuff I tried: -all lowest graphic settings -reinstall msfs, reinstall fbw -disable simbridge -old nvidia drivers -without flightplan etc -Avast gaming mode on -disable Rolling Cache -run Disk Cleaner in Windows (cleans some -caches) -turn off HDR10 -turn off Photogrammetry -use DX11 -V-sync on/off -Tried stable and dev, also same problem with headwind a330. This spesific stutter which is like that, happens only with FBW. I have amd ryzen 5, 3600 and gtx 1660super, 32gb ram. I can get high as 60-70fps with fbw a320 (mainthread limited). PMDG, ATR, and Inibuilds work without these stutters, although for example Inibuilds has 10fps less (mainthread limited too) Also Latest MSFS2020 version and latest development/stable version of fbw "
