Ok I have been asked by users in the other FBW thread to open up a new thread on the FBW system. This thread to be reserved for the "How to fly FBW" questions and manual flight tips, techniques, so that the existing thread on Fly-By-Wire trimming problems since SP1b, "Still Trim issues after SP1b" can be reserved for trouble-shooting trimming problems (more technical stuff) only. So please ask your "how do I fly this manually" questions here rather, and people can help you out in this topic, leaving the other topic for troubleshhoting exchanges only. Rob

DISCLAIMER: I don't claim to be an expert on the FBW, The Boeing 777 or any aspect of life for that matter. I really just "learn by doing" and like to share my findings with the community because sometimes they happen to be useful to other people as well. If you happen to find inaquracies, inconsistencies or outright false statements, I'd very much like you to let me know them so that I can correct them. Hello all, After a video I recorded on the Phugoid Mode of the 777 I started what became a really interesting discussion. That discussion fueled my curiosity to further learn about the Boeing 777 Fly-By-Wire system. I've recorded a series of videos analyzing different scenarios and aircraft responses to control inputs, both in Normal Law and in Direct Law. Since it turned out to be rather long, I included an index in the description of the video. If you watch it in YouTube, you'll be able to click on each index item directly. And here's the video: Index: 00:00 - Introduction 01:50 - FBW Philosophy on the 777 03:43 - System Description 10:36 - PMDG FBW bug on the PFD 12:50 - Trim Change in Normal Law (constant Thrust) 15:50 - Trim Change in Direct Law (constant Thrust) 17:54 - Thrust Change in Normal Law (constant Trim) 21:45 - Roll in Direct Law 23:25 - Roll in Normal Law 25:37 - Lowering the Landing Gear in Normal Law 27:17 - Lowering the Landing Gear in Direct Law 31:11 - Approach to Stall in Normal Law 37:58 - Stall in Direct Law 41:17 - Failures (Secondary Law, Non-Normals...) O.K., I'm new to the Airbus world on MSFS. (I had the Aerosoft A320 on P3D.) Before going to the Fenix, I have been trying to get through FBW's tutorial flight using the experimental version (so I can get working VNAV). I've flown it several times already, and always have the same problem. Everything is fine until I'm on final. Approach phase selected and confirmed, APP mode selected, both APs on, gear down, flaps dropped to 3. I drop the flaps to the final detent...and the aircraft seems to forget anything about managed speed, drops the airspeed to somewhere around 100, and triggers the Alpha Floor protection. Once, I was able to drop the nose, regain airspeed, and switch the autopilots back on before TOGA LOCK kicked in, and was able to complete the landing with the approach speed manually selected instead of managed. The other times, I went into full TOGA before I could correct it, so did a go-around, flew a circuit, but, when I turned back onto the runway heading from about 10 miles out, although the G/S indicator came alive, the LOC indicator was still showing it off the charts to one side or another, although the RAD NAV is set correctly, as if it's somewhere else other than right in front of me (which it is, visually). Any idea what I am (or FBW is) doing wrong? I've gone over hours and hours of YouTube streams of FBW flights, and I can't see a single thing that isn't the same as I've been doing.

Hi all, I am GaryG from Project Airbus and I've been working on a FBW module for quite some time now. It can hold pitch and bank. So, if you're interested, visit this thread at PA: http://talk.pafs.wf/...php?f=10&t=2250 Wish to have some feedback as it's been quite quiet there. Thanks a lot and looking forward to hear from you. Regards
