September 13, 200817 yr My concerns are installation, possible performance issues and if there is any considerable differance between FSX default mesh resolution and my FSG mesh, 38.2 m res for Canada and USA ?Thanks Steve
September 13, 200817 yr I tried it when I first got FSX and It didn't work out so well! I think FSX renders mesh differently from Fs9 which may have been my undoing. I ended up buying the FSX bundle which at the time was very reasonable and I feel worth it. John
September 14, 200817 yr I could be wrong, but I think the FSX default USA mesh is 38m...And the rest of the world (sorry hehe) is 76m, except for a few special areas... | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
September 14, 200817 yr Author Commercial Member HI Steve,Yeah, it will work, but it's not optimized for the new terrain engine. And the FS9 installers, of course, won't find FSX, so any install will have to be manual. The default terrain in FSX is 38m in the US, so you won't gain anything in the US using the 38m FSG terrain. You will gain in most of the rest of the world, though, as the only areas in FSX that are now 76m are Europe, Australia, small part of the southern Himalayas, Japan, and some south Pacific Islands. The rest of the default is 612m.But your best bet is to get the FSX Media Bundle at FSG. This will get you 10m US, 19m Canada, 38m Mexico, and the rest of the world at 76m, on 6 DVDs and 2 CDs, plus a free FSX landlcass download. And it takes advantage of the new terrain engine.-------Justinhttp://www.fsgenesis.netHigh Quality Scenery for FS200x ________________ Justin - Toposim http://www.toposim.net
