July 29, 2025Jul 29 Hello ALL, Recently I've returned to FS2020 and I've started to set things up for TFDi MD-11 and I noticed that the behaviour seen on PMDG B-737NG is still there, which is a really bad steering on the ground. Last plane I used to fly on P3D (v4 yet) was the FSLabs A320 and it used to work really well. I use a X52 controller and have assigned the "steering tiller" axis to the rotary head in the throttle part of the controller, just like I used to do on FSX, P3D, etc but it really seems to be of little help. Any higher speed than REALLY slow makes the steering to lose effectiveness and even at such slow speeds the higher turning angles seem to "slip" a lot! Is there any fix for this? What do you recommend? I used to have FSUIPC before (on older FS and P3D versions) but didn't really feel the need of it for FS2020, so I have not tried to see if it improves things in this regard. Thanks in advance. Best regards, Wanthuyr Filho Instagram: AeroTacto
July 29, 2025Jul 29 That should not be the case now, at least with the PMDG 737. Eighteen months ago when I first purchased the PMDG 737-600, the ground handling was absolutely atrocious. The slightest increase in speed during a turn would result in the nosewheel "locking" (until LRBS provided me with a lifesaver workaround). However, that problem was solved a long time ago. I have no problem steering the PMDG 737 now at sensible speeds. July 29, 2025Jul 29 Author Maybe it's the time frame I stopped using the PMDG, and considering it's a long time since then I supposed it was a fixed issue. But the thing is I'm noticing the very same behaviour of those times within the MD-11, which surprised me in a bad way... Best regards, Wanthuyr Filho Instagram: AeroTacto
July 29, 2025Jul 29 Ground steering on the TFDi bird is...well...suboptimal. You have to really ease it into turns, and, as you've noticed, it slips at very slow speeds with little provocation. I keep hoping that they'll get around to fixing it--it's a good add-on in many other ways. July 30, 2025Jul 30 For a high priced payware addon aircraft that has been on sale for some time, something as important as ground handling really should have been sorted out.
