August 2, 2025Aug 2 Pushback using Reverse Thrust Tested using MSFS2020 FlightFX Cessna CitationX Worked well. Video: Edited August 2, 2025Aug 2 by vonmar Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW
August 2, 2025Aug 2 This is a not recommended practice for many business jets, including the Citation X, in real life, for many reasons, including safety, high noise and pollution, high fuel consumption, etc. Of course, this is just a sim... Do you use FlightFX's Cessna CitationX reverse thrust on landings? How about other Jets / Props with reverse thrust? Edit: "high fuel consumption, etc." What is included with "etc." ? The airlines used to say the same thing until they wanted to lay people off, then it was ok.

Edit: "high fuel consumption, etc." What is included with "etc." ? I have to say the Cessna Citation X is a very fun business jet to fly. It's also very easy to follow all the recommended procedures for all the different phases of flight. The FightFX's rendition of the aircraft is excellent. To answer your question, the additional inconveniences of using the engine reversers for pushback would be related to unnecessary wear and tear on the engines and is also generally safer, simpler and more controlled to have dedicated pushback trucks to get the aircraft nicely from the gate. Of course the engine reversers are often used for landings, maybe most of the time, but they're not always required, depending on factors like pilot's discretion, runway length or condition (like icing or moisture), aircraft weight, airline's SOP requiring the use of thrust reversers at every landing to help reduce wear on the wheel brakes, and last, but not less important, existing airport's restrictions about noise abatement procedures. But, anyway, the sim is mainly to have fun, so if someone wants to execute such powerbacks, they're totally free to do so... In the 90's when airlines were doing poorly all of a sudden it was ok because they laid a bunch of people off. I've marshalled in reverse, DC-9's, 727's, a 737 ( that's an ugly story) and even a Saab 340. It didn't last very long as someone decided that it was unsafe.
December 10, 2025Dec 10 @edpatino I have just started flying the Citation X in MSFS 2024 and generally I love the aircraft. However, I have not been able to figure out how to deploy reversers on landing. The FlightFX manual is hard to follow in this regard. I have tried several alternative approaches, but none work. I would appreciate any guidance you might have. MSFS 2024 SU4, VKB Gladiator NXT EVO

MSFS 2024 SU4, VKB Gladiator NXT EVO Wew!, I've been flying the YS-11 lately and forgot almost averything about the Citation X, but as far as I remember, you have to properly set up your throttle controller for the reversers to work as in any other airplane. I set up my throttle controller following the guidelines for the FBW A320 on their website, so google it and good luck and patience. December 10, 2025Dec 10 Author @Bill Mack I use FSUIPC7 to setup reverse thrust with Saitek throttles. Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW
