been a pilot2atc for a decade. couple days ago "push to have co pilot respond stopped working. It works if I have the box checked to respond to every thing . then just before reaching TOD it disconnected. I re connected but it was silent, I Also noted my "TOD was being calculated about 5 miles from destination airport. Flying DC-6 at 17,000 is just not gonna work.

Downloaded update 0.2.1 and today co pilot push to reply still does not word (re set with several buttons as well as a keyboard shortcut. And I am constant betel"you are off course" when I am right on the line, to make matters worse it can lag i.e. when requesting take off clearance for up to two minutes, and finally it goes into a repeat  thing where several minutes of the same sentence over and over with the co pilot answering

There are some bugs in 2.1, especially with the new X-Plane connection logic and the copilot speech recognition, so some of what's happening might be due to those bugs.

However, it sounds like some other things are happening too.

While I have no idea why it would disconnect on its own, if that does happen, when you reconnect, you must follow these steps to get going again:

1.       Load same flight plan as was loaded prior to the disconnect/crash.

2.       Connect to SIM

3.       File the flight plan

4.       Make initial call to ATC.  Usually this would be “<CallSign> at flight level xxx” or something similar

5.       ATC will give you a squawk code and all should proceed normally after that.

The long wait, followed by multiple repetitions of the same phrases sounds like something was blocking P2A and after the block was removed, it responded to multiple attempts to get the copilot to speak.

As for the Speak buttons, is it only the physical buttons/hotkeys not working or does the Speak button on screen not work?  Try using the Speak button on screen.  That should definitely work.  You can also delete the definition of the Button and HotKey and redefine them to see if that fixes the issue with them.

Dave ok Filed a different flight plan. and co pilot only works if it's set to always reply. my assigned push to talk button has no effect nor does the key board I assigned and the "Speak button" on the screen does NOT  work. immediately after take off I was advised I was off course, Which I was and corrected. a few minutes it again stated I was off course although I right on the magnets line, then proceeded to repeat over and over " you are off course" this continued until I shut it off.

 

Should I just delete and re download ???

I suspect the off-course calls were due to ATC having assigned a different departure course than you had in your visible flight plan.  That is almost always how you get those calls during the departure.  Most often, it's ATC assigning a SID that you didn't have in the flight plan.

As for the Speak button, that's very strange as it's working for others...So doing a fresh install might solve the problem.  In most cases, you can just download the latest update and install it over what you have.  Or download the full version with the data and install it.  Then update your data if you have a Navigraph subscription.

Dave probably should have mentioned this at the beginning, but I did an upgrade including motherboard, new ram and high end AMD chip after which thing never worked right

I just uploaded version 0.2.2 that fixes many issues with the Copilot speech recognition and other issues.

Grab that and see if it behaves better.  I can't replicate the Speak button not working, but maybe the new update will fix it for you.

Update:  re installed:  installed update. and all is back to normal

as always really appreciate you help and attention, which you have given me this last decade

however I now have what sounds like a 6 year old little girl as one of the voices, scared the word not allowed outta me when she came on. Got to delete that one !!!

I recently upgraded my motherboard, CPU and installed a fresh Windows 11. I have been trying to get P2A ver3 to work for the last 2 days with not a lot of success.

I eventually have it working to where the program launches and connects to xplane12. I was able to get to update to newest AIRAC with Navigraph.  What I cannot get to work is ATIS and Chatter and Controllers. The voices work just fine when I test them in P2A voices settings. With the new windows install I see there are a lot more SAPI voices then previously. I have assigned David to ATIS and Zira to Copilot because I know they are tried and true. 

I started xplane with Zibo at KORD. I then started P2A, loaded a flt plan, validated it and filed it. I then connect to xplane and it works just fine. I see my postition on the airport, ATIS shows in Com1 and Clearance delivery in standby. I am not getting any sound from ATIS. I am not hearing any chatter.  When I switch to clearance I am not getting any Display of speech like I used to. (choose phrase to say to controller) I am at a total loss. Before my upgrade I have been using P2A without any hiccups. I also just upgraded to 0.2.2A from 0.2.2 and nothing changed.

Barry: although I posted above that it was once again working, but after 2 flights I am again experincing repeted instructions. over and over until I shut it off, Also again no co pilot when using "Push to talk, and like you ATIS is not working at any airport, no taxi instructions , just taxi to runway no route given.

And like you all started after new motherboard and CPU

Very strange......I started a new flight this morning and everything worked perfect! I did not change a single thing from yesterday! Cannot be a reboot fix as I rebooted several times yesterday and no luck.

I see that it worked for you and then it did not........fingers crossed that it keeps working for me.

ill try it again tomorrow, this is so weird !!!!  as both of us did the motherboard/CPU change

Well, I spoke too soon. Thing just is not working properly. I noticed right away that ground control no longer allows me to choose "pushback and engine start". Many of the controller responses are incredibly lagging.

I have copilot answering the radio and that does not always work. I am often not being handed off to the next controller. I am getting ATIS.

I hope this gets fixed.......I love this program and really do not enjoy flight sim without using it.

Same for me to all of the above. When you say Pushback and Engine Start is not able to be selected, are you by chance hitting the Refresh button after getting your clearance? I did refresh and Pushback option disappeared. If you do not hit Refresh then the option stays.

I am also having trouble with AI A/c. I use plugin Live Traffic and I am getting takeff clearance with traffic about to land. P2Atc and Live Traffic used to work really well together but now they run independently.
