Some additional questions on iFly 737 MAX

I generally disengage the autothrottle first, followed immediately by the autopilot. I am perfectly stabilised on final approach at around 1000-1500 feet when I do this, so it works just fine.

This is what I do in with the iFly MAX as well. Click the A/T disconnect button on the side of the throttles and then give my hardware throttles a wiggle to line them up with the set thrust setting. Then when that is all done disconnect the A/P with two presses of the disconnect button on the yoke.

I do not know about the alarm sound in the iFly 738 MAX, but the autopilot disengagement sound that is played in the PMDG 737-600 is spot on.

EDIT: I have just watched an iFly 738 MAX landing approach video, and the autopilot disengage alarm sounds fine to me.

Yeah, I must have been confusing the sound of the disengage alarm. I went back and rewatched some of the tutorials and they all sound the same.

One other question, I'm now using BATC, and the auto answer function, but it seems odd that my copilot seat is empty. Is there any way to add an avatar for a copilot through an add-on or something?

Make that two questions… what sim rate is safe for this plane now? I see a lot of reports from six months ago that anything beyond 2x is likely to end badly. It seems there’s a 2x option in the EFB, and while it seems to work, in some ways, it’s bizarre. The regular clock on the PFD doesn’t go any faster, but the elapsed time is twice as fast and the miles to the next waypoint don’t tick down any faster. So I guess it’s not actually working. I will try sim rate.

My experience is that it doesnt bear any sim rate greater than 2 x, greater than that it flies erratically while under autopilot

Yup, 2x is about all you'll want to use for now.  I use the freeware sim rate utility on .to since there's no other indication in the sim of which rate you're at.
