August 10, 2025Aug 10 Quote Car goes up in flames when driver smoking cigarette uses hand sanitizer The danger from smoking around things with a low flashpoint is not the cigarette, the danger comes from the means to light it. If the car driver in fact told the fire brigade that he wiped his hands with sanitiser and then lit a cigarette, it would make more sense. Probably that's what they did say. Even then, to set fire to a car, they perhaps also spilt large amounts of it first. Depending on the content of the sanitiser, the flames might well have been invisible, leaving time for the tiny fire to get a hold. Edited August 10, 2025Aug 10 by Reader
