OMG it's worse than I thought.  So it's true they've tuned to a much lower common denominator instead of tuning to allow those w/ lots of VRAM to use it.  That is very sad!  What would have made more sense to me is do that for 2020, the now 5y/o title, and open that up for 2024 users.

The Pascal architecture was probably the last time Nvidia genuinely cared about raster primarily. It's still definitely a trooper just the whole VRAM restriction. I saw a bigger perf boost in MSFS changing my CPU compared to changing my 1070 to a 7800XT
