October 27, 200817 yr Greetings all,I recently purchased the Mooney for FSX and have a minor issue. The strobe/becon lights flash extreemly quick. I've searched the forums here and found one poster stating that this issue is a "tell tale" sign that it IS NOT a true FSX aircraft. If this is the case, how can I resolve this issue without having to use the SDK to "reprogram" this special effect? Thanks all!
October 27, 200817 yr First of all, it is a true FSX model. If you want a different effect, simply associate the beacon light to one you desire via the aircrfat.cfg.Look in the lighting section.
October 28, 200817 yr I would just like to 'butt' in here and tell you that Carenado's Cessna 152X is awesome - Miles better than any other 152 in existance and is a joy to fly too. This one is realism to its full potential. Dave Taylor
October 28, 200817 yr Author Thanks for the replies. I wasn't stateing that the aircraft isn't a true fsx bird, just what I've read in other posts here in the avsim forums. I would think that maybe i've installed the bird wrong since no one else is seeing this?I'll have to play around with the "look" until it fits me.I'll have to check out the 152, looks like a great bird to fly!Ken
October 28, 200817 yr They just used a custom effect, that's all. The Mooney is a port of the FS9 rebuilt to take advantage of all the new FSX stuff, so unlike other ports it has bump mapping, specular lighting and all the other FSX goodies. Same goes for the 182's and the 206.
October 28, 200817 yr I have to disagree, the Mooney is not a 'port', nor are the new FSX Carenado models.(I purchased both e FS9 and FSX Mooney products seperatly, and the performance and other aspects of the FSX model, in FSX, is 'heads and shoulders' above the FS9 model I ported). All the new FSX Carenado models are 'FSX Certified', and 'true' FX models.
October 29, 200817 yr perhaps port wasn't the right word... Either way I'm sure they used elements of the FS9 build for FSX but upgraded to use all the FSX features, why wouldn't they, don't see a problem with that either.
October 29, 200817 yr klemay,Speaking of lighting, are the panel and dome lights controlled separately? The only screen shots that I have seen show both dome and panel lights on together. Thanks,Tom
October 30, 200817 yr Author Tom,Both lights are controlled by one switch. I was hoping they would be seperate, but I've not found a way to do it.Ken
