Early Access 12.3 - Networking

Featured Replies

Hi,

Anyone in the early release program that's networking multiple computers/screen with 12.3? If so, any videos showing the progress that's been made?

Thanks

I'm not networking, but I can look in the networking settings for anything you might be interested in knowing about.

Network sync for running separate X-Plane and having everything sync like clouds, ground vehicle, etc. Recent Reddit AMA here is the info provided when I asked LR

Hi,

Just looking to see if they synced the following items over the network. airport vehicles, distant clouds, dawn/dusk lighting, rain, lightning, road traffic and cloud shadows are a few that come to mind.

Anyone on the test team that runs multiple computers/monitors? Didn't notice any on discord.

Thanks

I have the boats turned off being in a 737 don't get to see them much or for very long. As far as AI aircraft, I use Traffic Global and that's already networkable. Would like to see Traffic Global give us the ability to keep a gate open on the back end when running traffic at 100%.

If they were sync'd with no perf hit would you turn them back on?

Highly unlikely, I prefer a smooth ride and with boats, airport vehicles and car traffic removed I get a smooth ride most of the time.

There are no changes under the networking tab/External visuals section between 12.2 and 12.3.

Whether anything has changed under that section in the sim, I couldn't say, as I don't run a networked setup.

It shouldn't be too long before 12.3 is out, so you can see it for yourself.

So you will turn these back on then if they sync? It was on your list.

I do like the boats. I don't see a huge perf hit. Maybe 1-2%. There simply aren't enough of them to cause havoc. Airport service vehicles do seem to sometimes trigger fps jumps in dense scenery areas though.

Airport vehicles I'd like to put back as long as the hit in performance isn't all that great. Vehicular road traffic seem to cause slight flickers, if that gets fixed I'll add those back as well.
