Noob FS2024 Question - Aircraft Specific Controller Settings

Featured Replies

I'm struggling to set up aircraft-specific response curves for my joystick and rudder.   I've got my stick currently set up 100% linear because that is what works best for the Fenix A32X but that results in massive overcontrolling for most other aircraft.   Any advice is appreciated.

Select the aircraft you want to set it for, open controller setings for the controller unit you want to set specific curve, oh the cogwheel select duplicate profiles and then give it a new name...

You can opt to populate all aircraft with the options for this particular profiles you're creating or leave it only for the corrent selected aircraft.

I lost all the profiles for my Thrustmaster rudders when moving from SU2 to SU3.   So my advice is to save frequently and duplicate i.e. “Aerostar 600 Backup”.  I haven’t figured out exactly what triggers this problem, but it might be related to changing aircraft variant.  Also haven’t been able to work with any local settings for controllers as it seems setting are all cloud based (not a bad but needs to be bullet proof implementation which it’s not).

But in theory you’re supposed to be able to save all your controller setting per aircraft (variant shouldn’t matter) including curve profiles.  As suggested, use the “Duplicate Profile” and give it the name of your currently selected Aircraft.  SU3 did modify the controller UI, it’s faster, but still seems to be focused on XBOX UI rather than standard desktop UI of mouse click and selection of a dropdown value … still have to cycle thru  all my profiles rather than just select the one I want from a dropdown.

It’s a shame there is no support of “local” storage option for controllers, we’re adults, we can handle it 😉

Controller UI is still a work in progress, I hope?

You can export your controller profiles to a local folder of your choice, and then if needed import them at a later time. Or perhaps I don't understand your comment above?

I tried that option, but after SU2 to SU3 update my Thrustmaster rudder’s got wiped out for all aircraft, so I tried to Import an exported backup and got nothing updated for the Thrustmaster rudders.  So I opened the XML file with an editor and no entry relating to Thrustmaster rudders.

But your suggestion is sound, just didn’t work for me … oddly all other controller profiles were fine.  Just the Thrustmaster Rudders all gone … about the only thing I can think of that is different for Thrustmaster Rudders is I configured unique curves (usually varies by aircraft) … usually a big inverted S with small dead zone.
