DLSS Swapper Reportedly Allows Replacing FSR 3.1 With FSR 4

Featured Replies

Through Manual DLL Swap (Try at yer' own risk!)

Wonder if this will show up in SU4.....

https://wccftech.com/dlss-swapper-reportedly-allows-replacing-fsr-3-1-with-fsr-4-through-manual-dll-swap/

FSR 4's main feature is its AI-powered upscaling using machine learning, which significantly improves image quality and detail retention compared to previous versions. It also offers enhanced temporal stability, reduces artifacts and ghosting on moving objects, and includes frame generation for significantly higher frame rates. A key benefit is its wide cross-GPU compatibility, as it supports AMD, Intel, and Nvidia graphics cards, unlike DLSS which requires proprietary hardware.

Key Features of FSR 4

AI-Powered Super Resolution:.

FSR 4 utilizes machine learning (ML) models to reconstruct high-resolution images from lower-resolution inputs, leading to better detail, clarity, and stability.

Improved Image Quality:.

Compared to FSR 3.1, FSR 4 significantly reduces artifacts, minimizes ghosting on moving objects, and improves the stability and detail of the rendered image, providing a more realistic look even at performance settings.

Frame Generation (in conjunction with FSR 4.1 and later):.

Integrated with motion-compensated frame generation, this feature can dramatically increase frame rates by generating additional intermediate frames.

Cross-GPU Compatibility:.

A major advantage of FSR 4 is its ability to run on a wide range of GPUs from different manufacturers, including AMD, Intel, and Nvidia.

Cross-Game Compatibility:.

FSR 4 is designed for wide adoption and can be integrated into existing games, with a target of over 75 titles by the end of 2025.

FidelityFX API Integration:.

FSR 4 is packaged as part of the AMD FidelityFX SDK, simplifying integration for developers.

Native AA Mode:.

FSR 4 includes a "Native AA" mode for enhanced image quality beyond what native anti-aliasing typically provides.

I need FSR4 in my life.  I like FSR better than DLSS FG, but 3.14 has ghosting on props and aircraft shadows when moving.  If 4 fixes this as stated I will be over the moon.
"minimizes ghosting on moving objects"

I wish I could see and easy way to do it.  I don't really want to install Optiscaler, so hopefully the DLSS Swapper author can update that program soon, then giving it a try would be worth it at least.  Swapping back if it doesn't work shouldn't be too taxing.

EDIT:  Does anyone have a safe link to the .dll?  I might just manually swap it after backing up 3.14.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Well, if i was gonna try it, I might check for it in the FSR4 sdk files.....

Strange!  Tried to download it three times now from the official AMD site which is flagged as green (safe).  However, my PC keeps removing it as soon as it is downloaded.  Checking to see if it is my browser (Brave) or ESET security.

I have been wanting to try FSR in MSFS 2024 but have been unable until this morning, when for some reason NV DLSS FG suddenly was missing as an FG option, but FSR was still there.   RTX4090.  Is it normally the case that FSR is not available if NV DLSS FG is?  I did get a chance to fly with it and it was very good, but didn't dig in deep as I've had better luck w/ NV DLSS FG lately since 2nd screen related judder suddenly disappeared, thankfully.  As well, learned that all the artifacts I found show stoppers for me are virtually gone when you can run open with higher frame rates, 90+.  So will run wide open on the ground where artifacts are the worse for me, then lock the rate to 60 after up a few thousand feet.
