PSXT_P3D crash

Featured Replies

Hello,

I was doing a flight and when I was about 15 minutes away from destination (RJBB) when P3Dv5 crashed which I believe was caused by PSXT_P3D, according to Event Viewer. This is the second time I've seen this happen. The first time was sometime last week when conducting a flight from Singapore to Osaka, again, roughly the same spot. Any thoughts?

Log and screenshot

I could see one of your AI aircraft causing a CTD, but not PSXT. Whether its a model or one of the liveries is more likely.

Side note , looking at the log you are missing so many liveries!!

I don't have all the liveries installed as there are parts of the world I'm not flying in. Certain regions that I know I will fly often have been installed. Because I'm missing so many liveries, could that be a reason for the issue I'm having??

As for the AI aircraft causing the CTD, you do happen to know which one it is??

If you are space limited I understand.

Remember that some of your "Non-participating countries" send traffic (International flights for example) to your "participating countries".

My thought is install all. TC won't load what's not required.

You don't need them all installed. You are operating into Osaka and don't have most of the Japanese airlines installed? Peach, AirDO, Hokkaido Air System, Skymark, Fuji Dream, Spring Japan, Japan Air Commuter not to mention ones that are nearby such as JinAir, Tigerair Taiwan, Jeju Air, Eastar Jet, Air Busan, T'Way, Aero K, and Air Premia.

The event viewer showed that PSXT crashed which shouldn't cause your sim to crash. I'd say try it again and see what happens. I never consider anything a specific  issue unless it's repeatable, so having one ctd is either something to ignore and hope it doesn't happen again or try the same flight again and see what happens.

I defer to Dave. He always provides great advice and is super knowledgeable.

FYI: PSXT runs outside the simulator ,so if PSXT crashes it should not not  crash the sim.

In the event log you showed I did not see an error code, what you normally see when PSXT crashes on a dangling pointer, division by zero, or such cases

Would changing/converting to the standalone version be a viable option as he already owns a RT license?

PSXT_P3D is the stand alone for p3d.

Thanks. But PSXT did crash. The sim or the aircraft I was using didn't cause it nor has there been any time where it CTD P3Dv5. Sometimes I don't launch PSXT so I know its not the aircraft, scenery or P3Dv5. Anyway, I did go back and download the Japanese airlines that were missing when operating in Osaka. Don't know why I didn't do that. I guess I was going to do that a while back at one point but I forgot. I did do some flights, and didn't have any issues although still a bit worry the issue will occur. For the meantime, I'll keep an eye out.

I agreed that PSXT crashed, but that it shouldn't cause nor does it mean that PSXT caused your sim to crash. My point was more of if it's repeatable then you have something to investigate.
