Floyds Epic Clouds for MSFS 2024

Featured Replies

Maybe my eyes are deceiving me... from the video, you could've fooled me that it wasn't just the stock clouds using live weather in 2024. Looks absolutely no different to me compared to what I already see in 2024.

100% purchase if it uses live weather in the future

This is just a pack of presets - it's not new cloud textures, that live weather could use.

Floyds Epic Clouds is a beautiful and natural weather preset pack for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 containing authentic cloudscapes with interdependent weather properties. There are 75 presets that have been tweaked and tested over plains and mountains at all times of the day. Epic Clouds also contain special weather environments, as well as support for gliders and balloons.

Refer to the Floyds Epic Clouds website for installation instructions and useful information about the clouds so you can get the best out of them.

Features

  • Easily switch between a variety of weather conditions with 75 beautifully hand-crafted presets.
  • When installed the Epic Clouds will be installed into the cloud list sorted into cloud cover order with icons.
  • Choose tropical or temperate zones easily by temperature.
  • The property ranges for wind strength, rain, snow, ice, fog, mist, temperature and pressure are range-checked during the development process.
  • All the cloud presets include winds aloft.
  • There are special environments for:
     - Glider ridge lift and thermals
     - Hot air balloon directional winds
     - Persistent rain, turbulent winds and jet streams
  • Choose challenging flights using fog, mist, and full cloud cover presets, or select a low cloud cover option for casual flights with open vistas.

How The Presets Are Made

  • Presets are error checked by software to observe authentic property ranges.
  • The presets are prefixed with FEC or FEW to group them together in the simulator’s user interface. You can use them alongside other cloud packs and programs if you wish, the Epic Clouds are self-contained and will only be active when you select them.
  • The presets are easy to install and use - they will appear in the existing list of available cloud presets after restarting the sim, sorted into cloud cover order. Choose the desired weather conditions from the drop-down list.
  • These presets have been built using the simulator’s own weather engine and do not add an additional performance load.

The preset looks great, thanks to Floyds. But honestly, the REX Atmos Core + Reshade combo delivers far more impressive results.
