X-P Identity

Featured Replies

Trying to do a 2nd install of XP12 due to it refusing to start.

XP support got back quickly to my email and said to do a 2nd install of XP12.

However it now requires one to create an "X-P Identity" before it will let me proceed.

Does anyone know anything about this? Thanks.

I would try to get your first version to start - there is really no reason it would not run, but a second one (on the same computer) would.

As for identity - the usual pattern here is that someone already created the identity (consisting of an email address and a password), which now for all times replaces your old "serial number".

Especially those in the latter parts of their lifespan (talking from experience here) tend to forget that they did this after a few days (hours, minutes,...) and then - when asked for their identity login, go "what the *** is Laminar asking me about some godfor***en identity, just take my serial no. like you did for the past 40 years, god***it!" 🙂

I did create this X-P Identity in order to proceed.

XP Support told me to do a 2nd install of XP12 and then start moving things over to this 2nd install to attempt to find what may be the problem.

Anyway when I then attempted to create the permitted 2nd install of XP12 it wouldn't allow me saying it had no record of my purchase and  suggested  I should buy XP12 suggesting I was running a pirated copy (my interpretation of the message - not their wording).

I then sent them the email proof of purchase, suggested they correct the situation and am awaiting a response.

I like your humour. I'm definitely in the latter part of my lifespan..... Hung up the headset 9 years ago after 40 years of both fixed and rotary wing.

A second copy if xp, sImply requires you to Copy the whole xplane folder somewhere and Name it something like xp12-2. Its really that simple. I run 3 copies. One clean, one last final one beta. And you can point the installer to the one you want to update. You do not need to sign in, just use your key. Its an option.

Hopefully it doesn't happen while you're in the workplace up there! 😆 (Just kidding, I know what you mean. Actually, I've been forgetting things forever!)

Like, finding out that you lost your mobile, being in stress for that, then someone calls, you answer the call and say: "not now please! I lost my mobile and am desperately looking for it!!!..." - the person on the other side responds...: "but... but..., I'm calling your number ???"

Happened IRL to an uninstaller next to you ....
