About changing the IP address in the WebAPI URL - you can also do that in AAO itself.

1. Shut down the StreamDeck Software (Open the System Tray -> right-click on the StreamDeck icon -> last option should be "Shutdown..."
2. In AAO, go to "Tools->Configure WebAPI Port"
3. Use the checkboxes to select all apps that you want to change the address for
4. Press "Set local IP"
5. Press "Apply".

This is what worked for me I tried this first so I didn't have to fiddle with Registry. thanks again Lorby!

how can I check if webapi is accesible?

Enter this in the adress bar of your local Internet browser:

http://localhost:43380/webapi?conn=1

(or just click on the link)

The browser window will say "OK" - or display an error message, when the WebAPI is not available.

To get your local IP v4 address: open a CMD window, issue the "ipconfig" command -> look for the "IPv4 Address" entry of your main network adapter.
or
in AAO, open "Gauges->Web FIPs", the label of the black button at the top contains your local IP. You can also doubleclick on it to see if network access in general works. Put at least one WebFIP into the panel with the "+" button.

Chiming in here with my problem related to this.  I can not for the life of me get the checkmark active in front of the streamdeck option in the API sub menue. I have searched and used chatGpt untill he got so bored with me that he left the chat.  More than 2 hours problem solving with an analysis of most settings. How to get the checkmark function active in fromt of Streamdeck in the API menue_? The rub is, when starting AAOhs, the checkmark is active, after starting streamdeck, it is greyed out. Starting both in Admin.

The websearch link comes back with "ok"

Latest updates for all programs ivolved.

You can only change the port and IP when the StreamDeck software is NOT running. That is why it is greyed out when the SD is active. Says as much in the documentation and the trouble shooting guide.

AAO (MSFS) manual, chapter 21.2 "Changing the ports" (use the question mark button in the top menu to open the manual).

Please note that the addons can not be running at this point.
If they are, they will be disabled in the list.
You will have to terminate the other program to make the change.

Most of the AAO addons that use the WebAPI won't "get it" when you change the port in their config file(s) while they are running. They only read those files at the beginning, when they are starting up.
That is why there is this rule that you have to shut them down first (=and then restart when you've made the change)
