NEW VERSION: v1.43.1 updated on Oct 24,2025

Featured Replies

Hi chaps, a new version of the PP is here with the release notes as below.. cant test it as yet as my CL is still being repaired from when the motherboard in it suddenly died...

Pimax Play

I. New Features and Improvements:
  • Added Utility Tool, allowing users to monitor key system data such as FPS and memory consumption in real time during gameplay. Users can make targeted adjustments based on this data for a smoother gaming experience.

  • Added Eye-Tracking Data OSC Transmission. After enabling the OSC switch in VRChat, you can directly transmit eye tracking data. This brings more natural and realistic blinking effects to some character models and enhances the immersion of virtual avatars. When using this feature, it is recommended to turn off the eye tracking function of third-party tools to avoid compatibility issues.

  • Added Field of View (FOV) Adjustment, now available for Crystal, Crystal Light, and Crystal Super headsets. Two modes — "Narrow" and “Normal” — are provided, allowing users to customize and optimize their visual experience based on personal preference and usage scenarios.

    II. Fixed Issues:
    Crystal Super & Crystal Light:
    1. Improved headset tracking stability.
    2. Optimized controller's minor jittering.
    3. Reduced CPU resource usage.
    4. Fixed compatibility issues with certain Oculus games and UEVR.
    5. Fixed screen sleep issue; the headset screen now wakes upon movement.

    III. Firmware Update:
    Crystal Super Firmware V1.0.9:
    1. Fixed an issue where the USB device might not be recognized after PC reboot.

    IV. Rollout Plan:
-This version is planned to be gradually sent out to all users within the next two weeks.

Held off on fully testing this version until yesterday (all but gave up on VR as the glitchy display hurt my eyes when looking around).   I must say every glitch or performance issue I ever had with this headset is now gone.😶💯 As a 2020 user this I for the first time was able to crank up my VR display settings a bit and watch fluid performance. Any stuttering or issues is solely on the sim side at this point (and I have little in that department).  Pimax now runs better that the G2 ever did.  The sim community, Asobo, the various issues some have reported with 2024 I suspect had something to do with this.  Also the pressure of being the chosen headset for Microsoft.  Hopefully we don't loose anything in updates to follow.  Very impressed to say the least.👍

After playing around with the sim for awhile I think I see what's going on.  In the last FS2020 update Asobo must have done a VR update in conjunction with Pimax to address smoothness with the headset.  No matter what I do the tree draw distance and blurriness is apparent at around 1,500ft AGL.  Higher or lower it's not noticeable but right around that altitude certain areas (like a flat land off in the distance or certain tree line) you can see the tree draw distance and ground texture resolution diminished to a point it can look cartoony (not sure if that's a word, I wasn't flagged with a red underline 🤪).  There's no way to correct this with in sim or headset settings and because of this I can max out the clouds and other sim settings in VR where I wasn't able to before.  Basically, robbing Mary to pay Paul.  It's not a showstopper but in some cases it can look glaringly bad.  Hopefully this improvement for performance leads to other improvements where this compromise doesn't have to be in play. Sadly, it most likely won't be seen in 2020.  2024 has been a no go for me because the streaming concept doesn't work on my end do to buffer bloat in my fiber optic AT&T line. Others had similar frustrations in their coaxial lines as none of us can attain constant consistent internet speeds, it all fluctuates and for some it's worse than others.  So having a streaming sim dependent on that doesn't work for everybody.  I digress, I welcome the smooth performance improvements but understand when I see ugliness increase the altitude about 1,000ft.🙃
