I am a little puzzled at why there are two Max settings?  One says Max Parked value but includes “Live” and then another that is just for Max Live?  So if Max Parked (static+Live) = 500 and Max Live = 500 which one wins for “live traffic” since Max Live seems to be a subset of Max Parked?  In the above example, if there were 300 static then I would never seem more than 200 “live” even though Max Live = 500?

Well it is not that difficult.

With Max Park you control the number of all parked aircraft (live +static). If I would have limited it to static only, you would not have real control over the number of parked aircraft. If you for instance are a few hours at an airport (with good RT coverage) you will see that almost all parked aircraft are live parked aircraft.

Max Live is obvious. You example is not correct, if you have 300 static, you can still have 500 live aircraft, 200 parked and 300 in the air, or 0 parked and 500 in the air, and everything in between.

Max live you normally do not need, just let it be at 500 and control the number, if necessary, with the Radius. Only with a very old low performance Pc it might be necessary or at a heavy airport, like KORD, when radius 8 still gives too many aircraft for a moderate PC.

So keep both at 500 and go flying first.

But as you can see, I can have both apps running and PSXT works fine, but normally I just run PSXT with my RT license info.

You are running RT in spotter mode. It is not connected to PSXT. The location in RT is not synchronised with the location in PSXT, you have to do that manually  You better use PSXTraffic if you want that radar screen.

Yes, was aware … I was using the RT observer and manually set to KPDX as a validation of the existence of traffic external to PSXT (independent test without reliance on PSXT).

All good, thanks for the assistance.

Much appreciated … even more so considering this is all your volunteer time.

You can do that because you have a Pro license. With it 2 connections to RT are possible.

You're welcome. It's my pleasure.

Ah, didn’t know Pro license allows 2 connections.

On a side note, edited the parameters.xml file, the 500 Max Live entry worked like a charm, but when I put in 100 for Target that didn’t work, still loads at 30.

Oddly there was no traffic at MKJS … that pesky Hurricane 🙂

Working great now.

Sorry, but that’s a misunderstanding. There are two contexts for the MAX Live parameter (and some other parameters):
one when no airport is loaded, and one when an airport is loaded.

As soon as an airport is loaded, the MAX Live value that you specified for that airport in a previous session is used.
When you leave that airport, the MAX Live value for the “no airport loaded” context is restored.

So, set the generic (no-airport) value to 500, and only assign lower values to specific airports when necessary.
That lower value will automatically be applied whenever that airport is loaded.
