January 2Jan 2 Hi all, Recently I migrated to FS2024 and I have more or less installed/configured everything. However one issue is driving me nuts.... I'm using Chaseplane (like I did in FS2020) and I have configured short-cuts to each view (Alt-0/9) For some reason totally oblivious to me, Alt-1 opens an Windows Explorer Dialog, titled: 'Load GPX Files'. I don't have a clue which application this is (FS2024?). Verified all key-bindings and Alt-1 isn't configured in FS2024 (as far as I can tell. I deleted almost all default key-bindings) In FS2020 this issue didn't occur (same Windows instance) so my guess it is related to FS2024, or some other application must have automagically configured the Alt-1 key-binding Any ideas? Edit: I closed FS2024 and press again Alt-1: nothing happened. So it must be FS2024 (or a loaded add-on) Edited January 2Jan 2 by Egbert Drenth Location: Vleuten, The Netherlands, 17.3dme SPL 108.40 | Simulator: FS2024 System: AMD 7800X3D - Gigabyte X670 - RTX 4090 - 64GB DDR5 - 2 x 2TB SSD - 32" 1440p Display - Windows 11 Pro
January 2Jan 2 GPX is a GPS file, so it's most likely one of your addons. Do you have anything that's a map app? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GPS_Exchange_Format Edited January 2Jan 2 by Tuskin38

Maybe you have the TDS/PMS GPS? I have those but don't have this issue. 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen

(I had the TDS in 2020 but refused to pay the EUR 30 upgrade to 2024, so bought the payware PMS instead). Off topic, but since you’ve used both.. which do you prefer? 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen

But overall I prefer the PMS because it is using the exact same nav data that the sim is using. With TDS I would quite often enter the ICAO of a small unlicenced airfield to find that it wasn't in the database. Or, SIDs and STARs would not match between MSFS and the Garmin DB that the TDS uses. With the PMS, everything that is in MSFS (airports, waypoints, SIDs and STARs, etc) will also be available in the GTN. If you update your MSFS Nav data, it will be available in the PMS. The TDS uses a relatively fixed Garmin nav database, because it's intrinsically linked to the Garmin Trainer software and DB. I also personally found that VNAV calculations were better in the PMS than in the TDS. And with an aircraft avionics set up that includes a G3X / G5s, GFC500 and PMS GTN750, the aircraft will descend on the VNAV profile, when the VNAV mode of the GFC500 is used. I could never get that to work reliably with the TDS. The VNAV indications were correct, but the interface to the AP never worked well. Again, I believe that this is because the PMS is fundamentally closely interfaced with MSFS and it's data. The TDS is a more externally derived bit of kit. You can now update it using navigraph and it’s as up to date as navigraph is. And never had issues with autopilot/vnav. Sounds like they fixed these issues since you last used and now it is likely to be a wash. Thanks for the details. 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen
January 3Jan 3 Author OK, it is getting weirder. This morning I started up FS2024 and selected the same aircraft(s) having the issue... Issue gone?!? I will keep an eye on it, maybe it occurs only after defining new views and assigning the short-cuts (in Chaseplane), I dunno, Nevertheless I'll keep you posted.
