January 21Jan 21 Hi Nico, I'm wondering if the Reserved Stand (my_park_airports) feature is still supported. I noticed that shortly after the archived airports were reconfigured that there were times where a gate that I had put into the my_park_airports.txt file were not being honored. LSZH,26 Even though I added the airport and stand in the file and clicked "Re-read", PSXT wrote "parking and stands okay", however upon arrival at the airport, there was an AI aircraft parked in that spot. January 21Jan 21 The recent changes in PSXT resulted in all the parking spot designations being shuffled and redesignated, and now many have names that do not bear any resemblance to the parking spot names in the scenery. So if you set a reservation using a spot name that worked before, say "C3" for gate C3, you may well find that it's now designated "3c", or "3a", or even something completely unrelated like "111" It's intensely frustrating, as I spent many hours setting up GSX and PSXT configurations for hundreds of add-on sceneries, and now almost none of the stand reservations I catalogued work. It'd be nice if we could get a feature like FSUIPC's "traffic zapper" that would allow a hotkey or button to be used to make a PSXT AI airplane located within ~200m in a +/- 15 deg cone out in front of you to disappear without actually having to taxi right into it. Parking positions are now identified only by numbers, so you should position the aircraft at a stand, check the stand number shown in the UI, and remember or note that number. This change is caused by MSFS 2024, which introduced BGL files with new, unspecified encoding and the use of streamed airports. With the new SimConnect-based approach, PSXT can now read all airports, including encrypted ones. The only drawback is that parking positions are no longer named, but numbered. So please don’t blame me or get frustrated. It is better to have airports supported—even with less intuitive stand numbers—than to have no airport support at all. Also, please keep in mind that I do this voluntarily, as a hobby, and free of charge.

I also remember that if an invalid spot was selected before, that it would warn about an error when reading the file, but for some reason I no longer see that warning. That would give us a fighting chance to correlate PSXT's parking id numbers with the name in the sim, and we can then see where various arilines are parking, and set up reservations without having to move the acft to each spot to discern what the id is. The link you posted above to the Simconnect SDK says that for each parking spot there is a numerical name field that decodes to a parking spot name (e.g. 10 = "GATE"), a suffix, and a number. How does PSXT arrive at something like id="10d" if only a number is available? The suffixes a, b , c and so on, are given by PSXT for stands with the same number. It always has done that, also when it generated airport files out of .bgl files. EDIT: I now see that these suffix letters are also available via SimConnect: see NAME/SUFFIX = 12 .. 37 (GATE_A .. GATE_Z). So from now on, for new airports, I can align my suffixes with those from SimConnect. However, for you and everyone else, if we want to apply this consistently, it would require another archive RESET (similar to the one on January 1st). February 1Feb 1 I think exposing the decoded plain-text Simconnect-derived Name/Suffix/number data for each spot as a new data element in the park_airport.xml would be a sufficient solution without having to reset the archive. That would permit inspection of the xml file with a text editor to associate MSFS spot names with the PSXT id numbers. Thanks for looking into it. If a reset is the only way to get visibility of the MSFS parking spot numbers, then I guess that needs to be done. PSXT in it's original form was very useful to determine where various airlines were actually parking on an airport--I could look in the park_airports.xml and search for "DAL" and find where Delta's gates are, for example. Then I can make note of a DAL parking spot and later plan for and reserve it if I'm flying a Delta jet there. Now all I can see is the PSXT id, which doesn't tell me where the spot is beyond lat/long coordinates. Not really sure what the park_airport.xml is used for now, but I note it's still being generated. I thought it possible to just add some additional xml data elements to the generated xml to show the MSFS parking spot data for each spot along with the other info currently there. Another possibility short of a reset would be an option to have PSXT generate a separate text file when it loads an airport, with PSXT id numbers listed beside the corresponding MSFS name/suffix/number for each spot...basically a correlation table. So a user could look up "GATE_A 10" and see that it's PSXT id is "10c" and then use that for reservations. FYI: park_airport is the airport file downloaded from the online archive when you visit an airport. It is not generated locally, and it is never modified. Any changes are written to the corresponding Learned airport file.
