No AI sounds (AIG planes only)

Featured Replies

Sorry, it's my bad day today.

When I run PSXT, AI have no sounds. If I fire up BATC, AI sounds are present for the same models. Any idea why?

Never mind this topic, BATC has the same issues with AI sounds. Guess it might be AIG model related..

Check your aig-aitraffic-oci\SimObjects\Airplanes and inside many of the aircraft should be a soundai folder with an associated soundai.cfg which would then point to one of the many aircraft sound packs located in your aig-aitraffic-oci\Sound\AI.  I noticed quite a few of mine were missing the soundai.cfg entirely.

That is the same pack used by AIG so it should already be downloaded and installed in your aig-aitraffic-oci\Sound folder.

I think AIGAIM use this one

AiTRSP_MSFS_V0.6_AIG for MSFS with less aircraft sounds available.

I checked the integrity of sound files in AIG folders are there are no issues\conflicts. What interesting is that yesterday I flew from NZAA (a small airport comparing to KORD) and I have all AI sounds present. I begin to suspect that MSFS cut down sound of objects in the sim, once a number of objects reaches a certain amount. And yes, KORD is typically flooded with AI.

Very sad situation, because my new PC is capable of running such scenarios with good FPS.

Something you might want to also check just to be sure. I think AIG references a specific soundai file/package for many models, and to save disk space having duplicate files in every folder, they use a symbolic link (symlink) that points to the file.

Even though it might be present in the file directory, try to check if you can navigate to it. If you get an error when trying to open the soundai folder, that can also be a culprit.

I ran into this issue when I was trying to move some folders around; moving folders that contained the soundai symlink folder caused that link to break
