January 26Jan 26 Hi There- I am intalling alot of AI aircraft for some flightplans and need to know that I am putting the textures on right. I know that if theres one thing wrong that the aircraft wll be grey and something will be wrong in the aircraft CFG file. I justwanted to know if there is a program that you can use to view the AI planes to see that I am putting the textures on right. Please let me know a good program if you know one please. Thank you kindly.

Could I ask where are you getting the textures you are installing on the AI aircraft because normally AI aircraft (freeware and payware) come with liveries already preloaded? If you are just copying a texture from another aircraft and trying to apply it to an AI aircraft model that almost certainly will not work and the aircraft will be grey or black unless the textures are specific to that actual model. To make a new livery visible on an AI aircraft you would need to repaint it yourself which seems like a lot of effort when there is plenty of freeware AI available such those from WOAI where the textures are already installed. I notice that the last few threads you have posted seem to have been related to AI aircraft which makes me think they play a big part in your sim. Although it is always nice to see other aircraft landing and taking off when you visit an airport, it is important to bear in mind when using FSX that AI aircraft can be a very big user of FSX resources which is very relevant as FSX has a 4GB VAS limitation which, approached, can led to 'Out of Memory' errors and a CTD. Although I have Ultimate Traffic installed, I keep my AI sliders at fairly low levels much of the time and when using some resource intensive addon aircraft or scenery I reduce AI activity even more. Cheers! Bill
January 27Jan 27 The other thing you might consider is reading the FSX Software Development Kit which comes with the FSX Acceleration disk, or you can download it here: https://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads/files/2799/microsoft-flight-simulator-x-sdk-sp2/ There's a lot of useful info there besides the formalities required by AI aircraft, but there is a bit of reading to do. Just slow down and bite off small bits at a time. Mike Beckwith
January 27Jan 27 Try AI Aircraft Editor, along with Model Converter (MCX) you should be able to check your AI aircraft installs. https://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/threads/ai-aircraft-editor-version-4-2-1-released.458324/ https://www.scenerydesign.org/modelconverterx/ HTH Ian
January 27Jan 27 Get Spotty to view and or inject AI aircraft. Available at simmarket.com and flightsim.to Sorry, just saw this topic was for FSX. Spotty is only for MSFS. Edited January 27Jan 27 by Cap737Delta
