February 18Feb 18 Hello everyone, has anybody found a way to convert into MSFS2024 repaints done for MSFS2020 default aircraft such as the iniBuilds A310 or the Asobo 747-8? Reason: I've just had a lovely flight in MSFS2020 with the A310 (and a repaint from Flightsim.to). Unfortunately, it doesn't work in 2024, and I'm getting a bit short of storage now (211 GB of 1 TB left). Best regards,Luis Hernández Main rig: self built, AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D (with SMT off and CO -50 mV), 2x16 GB DDR4-3200 RAM, Nvidia RTX 5060Ti 16GB, 256 GB M.2 SSD (OS+apps) + 2x1 TB SATA III SSD (sims) + 1 TB 7200 rpm HDD (storage), ID-Cooling SE-224-XTS air cooler, Viewsonic VX2458-MHD 1920x1080@120-144 Hz (G-sync compatible), Windows 11. Running P3D v5.4 (with v4.5 scenery objects as an additional library, just in case), FSX-SE, MSFS2020, MSFS2024 and even FS9! Lossless Scaling for all my sims. What a godsend...Mobile rig: ASUS Zenbook UM425QA (AMD Ryzen 7 5800H APU @3.2 GHz and boost disabled, 1 TB M.2 SSD, 16 GB RAM, Windows 11 Pro). Running FS9 there .VKB Gladiator NXT Premium Left + GNX THQ as primary controllers. Xbox Series X|S wireless controller as standby/mobile.
February 18Feb 18 The native 2024 aircraft done by Asobo, are NOT compatible with 2020 versions. The texture layout/UV (ie the way the model is created) is totally different in 2024. This is why you hardly see as many paints for the TBM, Longitude, etc vs 2020. TimHH and ZachB have pioneered painting for 2024 default stuff... I've done a few myself but the setup is super time intensive, and we've had to find shortcuts to lower the hours it takes to make a paint. For instance, I know it took me probably 20 hours to make my N55BS paint for the 2024 Longitude.. and that's not including the time Tim spent making a paintable model. And there's still a texture error that's so-far unfixable on my end (it's on Asobo's end)... it's annoying. But some of the third part stuff created on behalf of Microsoft, like the Beaver from Milviz (I mean Blackbird whatever), should technically work - you need to convert the DDS to PNG then to KTX2... and to do that one needs to download Flak's little app here: https://flightsim.to/file/89937/image-to-ktx2-texture-script-for-msfs-2024-livery-creation-imagetomsfsktx2 for dds to png just google to find one. I have a generic one that works okay so far - I think its this one found at NExusmods https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/111378 Forgot to add, you'll need to find the folder layout too. Best if you check a download at flightsim.to - creating a new paint has been difficult without existing folder structure at times. February 18Feb 18 @ryanbatc ... +1 ... I think that's all the info in one place. I can only add that it often helps to download someone else's conversion from flightsim.to in order to see how it all looks.

Looks like there is some hope with the A310 then, since it's actually an iniBuilds product. I've been able to convert successfully liveries for the PMDG 777, Fenix buses and the JF RJ. I'll give it a try later when I get back home. No such hope for the 747-8, though. Or the 2020 version can be installed, just like the 787-10? February 18Feb 18 Author Tried so, but it didn't work: all I got was a version of the Airbus house livery, but in pink tones instead of blue 😭 And checking for filenames is too much of a hassle; it's something I can't automate.
