February 19Feb 19 I finally got the stock 737 going in XP 11 and the AP works ok but I couldn't get the climb out on its own. Did I not put it in correctly in the flight plan which I did in Little Nav Map? I want to hit VNAV at about 1000 ft and have it do the climb to 18000 ft and also have it descend via the waypoints correctly on the descent..right into the glide slope.. February 20Feb 20 Without the correct winds enroute being entered into the FMC VNAV is always going to be guesswork during descent. The speed brake is your friend! Also take over FMC SPD mode earlier below FL180 if need be and slow the plane down that way. You DEFINITELY want to be 240kts max by 10000ft. VNAV is more likely to put you too high or too fast than vice versa. It's trying to economize on fuel :D Russell Gough SE London

February 21Feb 21 Author another thing, I got the Zibo Mod 737 and how do you display all your FMS flight plans on the FMS...? I tried the co route thing but nothing happens.. so I can just select it and execute... Edited February 21Feb 21 by 4df5

February 22Feb 22 The Zibo mod does not read flight plans from random folders or from Little Navmap by default. It only looks in one specific directory and only for one specific file format. X-Plane 12/Output/FMS plans/ This folder must contain .fms files. But the Zibo also has built-in SimBrief integration: 1. Find your SimBrief Pilot ID This is the numerical ID, not your username. You can find it here: - Log in to SimBrief - Go to Account Settings - Look for Pilot ID (a number like 123456) 2. Enter your Pilot ID in the Zibo EFB On the tablet (EFB): - Go to CONFIG Select AVIONICS - Find SimBrief ID - Enter your numeric Pilot ID - Save settings 3. Load the flight plan in the FMC On the FMC: - Go to RTE page - Enter origin and destination - Press REQUEST (bottom right LSK) The Zibo will fetch your latest SimBrief OFP automatically You do not need to type a CO ROUTE or save anything manually. February 22Feb 22 Author I got the SimBrief going and got my first plan into XP 11. And I see how to get it into the FMS box... so, this is what I plan to do....take off and climb manually and engage vnav and Lnav and AP ,the FD will be on already... and I want it to climb on its own and level out at altitude and adjust throttle the whole way at least after I decrease to climb power after takeoff. Then descend on its own following the waypoints until I get to the localizer and adjusting for speed... is it going to happen this way??

So you will likely not get much advice on this here, especially since the 737 was changed (slightly) for XP12. Using VNAV in the 737 is complex and something that eludes even professional pilots, I have flown 737s for 10 years in real life and I had to constantly coerce my First Officers into "just try it, it is really not that bad" when flying descents, but the majority refuses to and sticks to V/S and FL CHG. Starting out in a complex aircraft like the 737 is never a good idea for a fledgling pilot and until you build up solid piloting skills, I recommend to stick to more simple aircraft like the Cessna 172, then work your way up slowly. It IS possible to fly the 737 "like a Cessna", but when trying to use the complex automated flight control system, one really needs to have background knowledge in addition to studying up on how this system works. Others may step in here, but I am not going to teach you how to fly the 737 proficiently on an internet forum.
February 23Feb 23 Author fair enough...one more thing..I have been doing just 3 mile approach in XP 11 in the 737 and I haven't crashed yet but I notice in the sim 737 stock(and Zibo which I deleted) that it gets really mushy on the roll controls below 150KT...did you experience that in real life and what did you think of that?? probably from the very heavy weight ..

The slower you fly, the less roll response you will get, both from reduced airflow over the flightcontrol surfaces and because of the higher angle of attack. I feel that the roll response of the default 737 is accurate, also at lower airspeeds.
