February 21Feb 21 Hi all, I have followed all the steps to a "T" from multiple videos but when my sim launches and I see the reshade message on the top left it crashes every time. Anyone know how to fix this? I have uninstalled reshade multiple times too. February 21Feb 21 Coincidently, I tried Reshade for the first time just this week. I had problems initially too but I did get it working. When you install Reshade and hit the browse button to 'point it' to MSFS2024, make sure you point it to the gamelaunchhelper.exe and not to the flightsimulator2024.exe. (This is in C:\X-box games\Flight Simulator2024\Content, by default. It doesn't work with the FS's EXE but it worked with the 'gamelaunchhelper' EXE for me. PS... I tried about 15 different profiles and felt that each was 'different' but not in anyway better. Each time I de-activated the effects, I felt MSFS2024 looked better! I removed and deleted it after a couple of hours playing. February 21Feb 21 Author Thanks for the reply, yes I used the path with gamelaunchhelper' EXE. I did launch one time well, then the next time I tried to load the sim it crashed and crashes ever since. February 21Feb 21 I asked Google AI how to install reshade in MSFS and Google gave me tips on how to do it. I asked about reshade in VR. But many of the tips apply to non VR use of reshade in MSFS 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.
February 21Feb 21 In the above long SU5 thread, about page 9, there's a message showing how he uses reshade with just one .ini file, namely: SG Aviation NEXT 1.0.ini You can find it here to download, all it is an .ini file. https://flightsim.to/file/99675/sg-aviation-next-reshade-rex-atmos-core-profile-beta When you first download reshade (use the full version), you need to choose two things during that installation: Choose the "game" and msfs2024 is not listed. So enter the path to the msfs2024 file named gamelaunchhelper.exe In the store version of msfs2024 this path is listed in the xbox app three dots icon located by the msfs2024 title. You also will need to choose that .ini file, so point the installation to wherever you put it from your flightsim.to download. When you open msfs, the Home key brings up the reshade window. You can control the font size with Control + mouse wheel. Or resize the window by dragging the right edge of the reshade window.
