February 23Feb 23 I am really stuck on this one. If I revert my system back to SU4 my exe.xml file is executed perfectly. However, as soon as I go into Steam and switch to the SU5 beta, I cannot get my exact same exe.xml, in the exact same location, to run. Does anyone have any advice as to how to figure out why this is happening? I do not want to have to start each program manually every time I start the simulator. I am at a complete loss to figure out where to go from here to resolve this issue I am having. Thanks. February 23Feb 23 Hmm. Permissions issue? Are you sure the file is actually accessible or openable by SU5? For example, are you running SU 4 as admin but not SU5? Either that or the SU5 beta is not actually looking at the same file and is instead looking up a different file which it places somewhere else (this seems most likely to me ) I have the store version so can’t check how Steam installs this, but I would start by checking these two issues 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen
February 25Feb 25 Author This is driving me nuts. The exact same exe.xml file, in the exact same location, works perfectly in SU4 and doesn’t run at all in SU5. I installed the code to run the Bravo lights and the exe.xml file it created, said program was simconnect.xml. The exe.xml file I had been using, at the top, says the program is exe.xml. I am so confused. Can some of you show me what at least part of your file looks like so I can compare? I don’t know what’s going on. I want to resolve this but I’m currently lost with this issue. February 25Feb 25 I had the same problem. Delete your exe.xml file, and use the autofps or dynamiclod app to create a new exe.xml file, then edit the new file to add the apps you want the simulator to run when you start it. Worked for me

Worked for me Thanks. I’ll try that when I get home. Worked for me Tried as you suggested but unfortunately it did not resolve the issue for me. I feel like I should just write a .bat to do all those things. There's actually more flexibility that way. You can add delays, you can control exactly what order apps open up in. I'd rather really use the exe.xml file but I've run out of ideas on how to resolve it. Very frustrating that it works perfectly with SU4 but not SU5. February 25Feb 25 Take a look if your exe.xml is the same as mine. When i had this issue, the first line of the code was different, but deleting the file and reinstalling the dynamiclod (latest beta version) has created a new file that SU5 was able to read fine <?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?> <SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0"> <Descr>Launch</Descr> <Filename>EXE.xml</Filename> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad> <Launch.Addon> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad> <Name>DynamicLOD_ResetEdition</Name> <Path>C:\Users\frmde\AppData\Roaming\DynamicLOD_ResetEdition\bin\DynamicLOD_ResetEdition.exe</Path> </Launch.Addon> </SimBase.Document> Edited February 25Feb 25 by Felipe Mendes

February 25Feb 25 Post your file @Rob G - are you certain it is valid XML? If a <or > gets deleted the whole thing breaks. I had that happen to me. To test it, try opening the file in a browser. If the tags are correctly closed, you will be able to open and collapse each section. If you have a malformed tag, it will be obvious. Here's mine in a browser - 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen
February 26Feb 26 Author Thank you folks for responding. It’s been a very weird experience but it is now working for me. I followed suggestions, rebuilt everything, and it finally started working.
