AIG traffic in FSX Steam Edition?

Featured Replies

Hi

I use the excellent AIG traffic for P3D V4.5 as i found Ultimate Traffic Live a bit disappointing and very out of date.

I still dabble in flying FSX from time to time and I wondered if its at all possible to get AIG traffic working in FSX so i can ditch UTL entirely. I know the one click install method does not work ( I only use BGL flightplans). Is it possible at all to use the flight plans and models from my P3D installation in FSX? and if so how would this be done? I am not sure if this is possible but I thought no harm in asking,

Kind regards

Darran

I'm not sure. But here are some ideas:

- BGLs may be exactly the same

- texture formats shall work with no issues in FSX. Just make sure they are all DXT5 DDS with mips.

- effects? No idea, sorry.

- model files? That's where the biggest work may be needed: you'll need to replace the P3D models with ones compatible with FSX or, in case there's none available, a FS9 one.

I admit I never tried it, despite having both P3D and FSX. Hope this helps, anyway

Hi Darran,

I use AI Flight Planner https://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/resources/ai-flight-planner.279/

I think you can use the flightplan bgl file, but you need to link the correct ai aircraft to your flightplan. For example you can find nice models and liveries here: https://fsxaibureau.com/

There is a nice manual for the AI Flight Planner, takes a little bit of time. Once you are in it, you can´t stop anymore
