March 30Mar 30 Brand new issue - Suggestions please..... I have the same rig as I have used for a number of years with no issues. Running P3dV5.4 with no issues as of last Friday (Mar. 27th). This morning I start up P3d and it loads the scenery (can see the progress bar) then no splash screen and then blank. It does not open the Scenario screen (my default). The strange thing is, Task Manager shows it is running, using 6.1% of the CPU and 441.6MB of memory. Task Manager shows it running in the 'lower' section - Background Processes - and not the 'upper' section - APPS. The only changes made yesterday (no flying) was changing seasons on the LatinVFR for KMSY, KBWI and updated the AIG flight models. I have tried clearing the cache, deleting the shaders and config files and that doesn't seem to matter. Any thoughts? This one has me stumped David Robinette NBL1936
March 30Mar 30 Moderator I had something very similar to this last week but it was of my own making. I uninstalled part of Microsoft Office. The Access option. That was listed in Add/Remove programs in Control Panel. It turns out it’s needed to hold data for P3D. The only way I could get P3D working again was to restore from a Windows backup. P3D would start to load but the Scenario screen never showed. “To restore Windows to a previous date, search for "Create a restore point" in the taskbar, open it, click System Restore, and follow the prompts to select a date before your issues began. This process keeps personal files but removes apps, drivers, and updates installed after that restore point.” Try this. It saved me. It might save yours. Ray (Cheshire, England). March 30Mar 30 Author Thank you! That solved it. I had forgotten I removed Office 365 from that computer for space as I don't use the programs....except that evidently I need Access. Truly appreciated. David Robinette NBL1936

I discovered that Access has been installed without my even being aware of it. Must be part of P3D. Intel i7 6700K @4.3. 32gb Gskill 3200 RAM. Z170x Gigabyte m/b. 28" LG HD monitor. March 31Mar 31 Moderator Glad it solved the problem. Before the restore I tried a repair of P3D. That didn’t fix it so the restore was my only option. First time I’ve used this in many years.
