April 2Apr 2 Flight from SBGL to SBCF, an inland route departing from the coast of Brazil. Used a Classic DC-3, which means it is fitted with a Gyropilot in lieu of a GPS & AP. Within about 20 miles of the coast a backbone of hills reaching 5,000' looms, and the DC-3 was working hard to get over it. In fact I had to divert through a notch in the hills to clear it.
