Question about Traffic Global in P3Dv5

Featured Replies

Hey,

I've been using Traffic Global in my P3Dv5 for over 2 years now and I generally like it. However, recently I started making my own AI packs that mostly feature retro airlines and flights based in the 90s. I would like to remove the flight plan/plans created by Traffic Global, so that I don't see AA 787s among my 727s.
I don't want to uninstall Traffic Global because 1) I use some of the models for my AI flights and 2) I would like to be able to go back to it quickly and easily if I feel like it.

Could anyone tell me where I can find the AI flight plans that are created by Traffic Global, so I can remove them temporarly? Or maybe a way to turn it off in the app itself? I didn't find anything regarding this in the readme document.

Regards,

You'd be FAR better off installing AIG's AI Manager for P3d as you can then use the hundreds of available models and with that comes thousands of available repaints not to mention the amazing retro liveries that have been made and ALL use the models used by AIG. Just be sure to setup your own collection of ai liveries etc so that they are deleted by AI manager. So start there with AI manager and watch your AI setup come alive compared to Traffic Global.

It has been too many years since I messed with Traffic Global, one of those installed with every update to try out and instantly removed or disabled again as it didn't come close to comparing to AIG's free option.

I'm considering it, yeah. Although I like to build my own AI flightplans.

You can build your own plans to your liking but at least you'd have a sizeable collection of aircraft to use.

Chances are they are in the main scenery folder under your P3D install, e.g.
C:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5\Scenery\World\scenery\

 .. or ..

Documents\Prepar3D v5 Add-ons\TrafficGlobal\scenery

Look for names like... Traffic_LibyanWings_Summer25.bgl

And rename them with an extension like .OFF or something, then they won't get loaded next time you start the sim, but you can reinstate later by renaming back to ***.bgl

I would definitely recommend using AIG.  A little time consuming to get set up at first, but it is quite the accomplishment in models and liveries especially considering that it is freeware.
