X-Plane 10 Aircraft - Exterior Light Help

Featured Replies

Hi Everybody,

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to adjust the lights for XP10 aircraft. I'd like to reduce these lights by two thirds. Anyone here familiar with XP10 settings that can lend a hand?

Thanks

There's parameters named "SIZE" and "WIDTH", so that's probably what you're looking for. Mind that light parameters set in the aircraft's OBJ override what's in lights.txt.

Yeah, I also made changes in the obj file, doesn't seem to have any effect. nly light I cannot figure out for the Zibo mod 738.

Throwing this here as seems useful but not sure if actually suits your purpose.

Above requires LUA scripting. is full SDK light creation info. From what I'm understanding so far... You need to create your own lights and get the plane to reference them.. Not sure you can edit existing lights...

Finally.. Someone asking for the same info a couple years back.

Good luck! If you succeed we'd love to know how 🍀🤞😎

If this is about running an XP10-era aircraft in XP12: You can always replace the light code in its OBJ files with the XP12 native equivalent.

Hi,

I run my own night lighting edits, both Reshade and Flywithlua, although I'm still waiting for the flywithlua to get approved by xplane.to. I'm IP barred from the org due to an issue with Nick so going there is out. I know I can use a vpn but, can't be bothered with that site!

The issue is with the zibo mod taxi lighting. It is actually brighter than the landing lights, it's way too wide and the length of the light actually shines on a building at klax when sitting on a runway. All the other lights I've been able to figure out, this one is just being a pain.

Thanks for the help!

Yeah, it looks like zibo mod uses V10 of the airliner in XP12. The above sugestion is one thing I didn't consider, I'll have to look into that. XP12 CD setup for lights makes things so much easier to setup.

Thanks
