Hi There-

Im new to this game entirely. I would like to know, I have the Logitech Extreme Pro Joystick and would like to know how to set the brake control. I somewhat cannot figure this out. Also, how do I get a spot plane view? The current view I have is the rear of the aircraft above the tail. Also, how can I select the airplane to fly. The game is defaulted to the A320neo. If anybody could help me, it would be much appreciated.

The fourth post down (by Chaotic Beauty) helped me to set up external view (spot view) just like I had it in FSX. Hope this helps.

Watching some basic and 'getting started' videos for MSFS 2020 on YouTube will be a better way to pick things up.

Here's one to get you started:-

I think the OP is not trying to make the outside view (spot view) look around (i.e. pan around). The mouse does that (it looks around). He wants to translate the outside view (spot view) so that it is only behind his plane, not above and behind his plane. I know of no way to that except to alter some sort of .cfg file. In FSX, the outside view was NOT above and behind the plane. It was just behind the plane, but not above it. And then you could translate it up and down. You can't easily translate outside views in msfs. Hence the OP's complaint.

As to mapping a hat to do what the mouse does. Just go to msfs controls and select your controller to be the mouse. Now select "search by input" and move the mouse. The box will now show the name of the command that makes the mouse movement do that exact thing. Assign that same command to one of your hat positions. Redo for the other mouse movements and put them on the other positions of the hat. Done.

Now you can flick the hat up down right or left and the outside view will look up down right or left. For instance if you move hat right, the plane will spin to right and keep spinning as long as you hold the hat switch to the right.

Doint that is a good way to see if your visual settings are stable. If they are stable (mine are), then as the plane spins the fps readout will not change up or down. It will stay on the same fps as the plane continually spins around.

I have my XBOX Cpntroller pad mapped to translate. Easy way to move about the cabin.
