Boeing Dreamliner Avionics

Featured Replies

There is some integration between the Dreamliner's flight control systems and its in-flight entertainment systems.Apparrently the FAA has expressed concern that someone using the in-flight entertainment systems with a PC might be able to hack into the flight control systems and has told Boeing to make some changes.

I find it hard to believe that there would be a connection between these two things. There should be no absolutely no connection.

I think they would be worried about this 20 years ago with airbuses.

>I find it hard to believe that there would be a connection>between these two things. There should be no absolutely no>connection. It's really not that far fetched. The entertainment systems these days, include a flight tracking map, that includes the current altitude, and speed of the aircraft. I assume this data, is being read from the flight computers. If someone was able to hack into the entertainment system, they may be able to access the flight computers through that connection.

Thanks

Google FAA Boing 787 and you'll find several screens full of this.
