November 19, 200817 yr Moderator Actually, beyond the first three, I don't see need for much else! I'm certainly interested in a replacement for gaugesound.dll especially since it is unlikely to work beyond FSX... Fr. November 19, 200817 yr Commercial Member That's why I'm moving to XACT.Bryan B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
November 19, 200817 yr Author Commercial Member I agree with Bill. I also agree with your move to XACT... I'm getting seriously hacked off with unmanaged DirectSound. Having said that though, the 'problem' with XACT/managed DirectX is that a lot of the inner workings are hidden from you, so you'll never know what may come back to bite you later. With unmanaged DirectSound, you have to do it all so there's no-one else to blame when it falls over. But, as we know, DirectX is being deprecated so it's another no-choice scenario. You'll most likely get there before I do as I've currently temporarily abandoned sound generation. Sooner or later though, I have to go back to it.-Dai
