December 20, 200619 yr Dear All,There are actually 2. Or is that 3 *:-*Anyway, I've uploaded the Beech Model 17 Staggerwings to the Avsim library, so they should be available shortly ;-)The UC-43 has been uploaded in an unfinished state, just so you could have even more toys for Christmas. The internal views haven't been 'militarised' yet and the panel is halfway there ;-)And one last gratuitous shot, coming out of Big Greider Lake - with modified clouds ;-)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/163490.jpgI hope you'll have a lot of fun with them!Merry Christmas, everyone :-waveRegards,Jon Point
December 20, 200619 yr Hi Jon,Thanks a lot, just downloading now :-)modified clouds ? they looks good ! is that just a config modification or did you modify the cloud.res ?merry Christmas :-wave agtim
December 20, 200619 yr I think you might come to find that Jon cut and pasted this sky photo into the scene just for this presentation.
December 20, 200619 yr OK, not wanting to disappoint anyone, I ended-up pasting a photo in the background! I have been playing with the cloud models but I haven't got very far. I even tried a huge floating model just to check it out but of course, ground palettes don't really work well for clouds.I am still very keen to improve the clouds though, and although I've amassed a lot of cloud photos, the ones in FU3 could probably be improved using the existing models with new textures. If anyone has any info, let me know ;-)Regards,Jon Point
December 21, 200619 yr To be honest, I am astounded that anyone actually believed that those clouds were anything other than a "cut and paste" job :-eek Christopher Low AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU / 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM / 12GB Nvidia RTX 4070 Super GPU / Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite Wifi 7 / 1+2TB Samsung Evo Plus M2 Nvme UK2000 Beta Tester
December 21, 200619 yr Jon,Clouds or no clouds, I have downloaded your baby and taken it for a quick spin.Absolutely fantastic.. Great job. And thanks for this contribution to the FU community. :-jumpy It's a bit hard to come to grips with the beast, no sooner is the handbrake off, but you're in the air. And does she go....Now, I have but one question. How come it didn't rate a mention on the Avsim home page? I know the answer of course, and without wanting to get all political, it does seem sometimes that the "commercial imperative" pushes the "old" stuff onto the back burner. There, I've said it, and will say no more....:-hah Cheers,Bruce H
December 22, 200619 yr Yes, my apologies for using the word 'modified' when I should have used 'fake' :-lol Actually, they're nice clouds, and I've been collecting some shots with a view towards attacking the FU3 clouds - after the nightlights ;-)Bruce,Glad you like it. It IS a bit of a beast - the fact that it could outrun most fighters at the onset of WW2 wasn't lost on the Government either - they 'resumed' every single one in existence for use as a fast transport for upper rankings. It just soooo nice, I can't imagine anyone thinking that a Bonanza was anywhere near it. Of course, what sold the Bonanza was the price...As to a mention on the Avsim front page, they did! At least THIS much:"Civil Flight Simulators - Looking Glass Flight Unlimited 3UC-43 by Jon PointBeechcraft Model 17 Staggerwing by Jon Point"I know that a new aircraft is big news for the FU3 community but as I said somewhere else, in the FSX world it would be "what is this - Sunday?" :-lolI'm just glad about 4 things:1. Tommy Beech for constantly waving the Staggerwing flag every time I was looking for new aircraft and also for supplying some close-up shots.2. The Staggerwing community for assisting me so quickly and jamming my inbox with photos and drawings!3. I got it done for Christmas so everyone gets to enjoy it - albeit probably drunk and with a gutfull of turkey but hey!4. Avsim for being here and providing with a nice, cozy place to do 'our' thing(s) ;-)If you get anywhere with the lights over xmas, send me a holler on email (or here). I'm going to be on the farm from Christmas day until just after New Years', then it's back to the grind on the 8th...BTW, just listening to the new JJ Cale/ Eric Clapton CD - it's very cooooool (together with the cool nor'easter off the beach and the beer in my left hand...) :-waveRegards,Jon Point
December 23, 200619 yr Thanks for the airplane. I've been watching for this one since we saw the first screenshots.Very nice!
December 29, 200619 yr Flew in both versions ,takeoff and landings went well .Thanks for "Old Yaller" another excellent contribution TO this outstanding Sim.
