RC V3 Pilot Scripts Supplemental - Scott?

Featured Replies

Hi Scott,Thanks for putting the V3 audio material on line. That recording utility is very nifty. However, as a personal choice, I believe the rationale exposed in the RC22/web/recording_voices.htm file is still very valid and faster than single file recordings. To that effect, I have produced a V3 pilot script file in 2 formats (Excel and html) similar to the one published in the RCV2 site and on the CD.Please feel free to grab the files and tweak them for your site if you wish. For all you folks who want them right now, there you go:[http://www.mcgill.ca/biology/staff/rlamar/v3pscript.htm]V3 pilot script html format][http://www.mcgill.ca/biology/staff/rlamar/v3pscript.xls]V3 pilot script Excel format]humm, humm, testing, 1, 2, 3 GO!!!Scott, on a personal note, I noticed that there are no female controller voices yet and that Sarah Thompson seems to have been demoted to private pilot (?) Pity... My neurophysiologist friends here at McGill have confirmed with ample proof the female voices carry much better through static than male voices (i.e. les Scotch and tobacco ;-)). I've said it before, female controller sound fabulous:" they're cool, calm and collected" to quote a famous clich

Rob,Believe me, I argued until I was blue in the fingers to have Sara as a controller still in V3. I was outvoted by the guys who actually own, produce, and program the thing. Go Figure. ;-)However, if anyone knows a woman with a great voice, has time, wishes to contribute to the world of Flight Simming, will record 1130 files, and you and she knows how to set the mic and record with good quality, by all means - ask them to do so! We need 'em.

we have done everything we can think of, to get females to record. they have all wimped out.

Hi Robert,We found that to avoid certain potential problems it was necessary to split any centre which crossed 180 E/W longitude. That's why there are 2 Oakland Oceanics. There are a few other duplicates in there as well. All the best,John

Mike,All the potential controllers wimped out. We now have 3 female pilots, with potentially one more to come.

we all appreciate her efforts!

Hi John,Thanks for the explanation: makes perfect sense; and yes I did pick up the Anchorage dupe. I seem to have accidently ventured on delicate grounds here. Sorry about that. I sure wouldn't want to mess up the team harmony. Cheers,

:-lolThanks, JD. Now if only we can pry Nicole away from Russel, we'd have a real hug fest. ;-)

OK, guys. I'm game to record my pilot script. However (comma) I don't know where I can get the "RC22/web/recording_voices.htm" file mentioned at the beginning of this string. I don't have it in my files (I downloaded the upgrade to RC2.2 and don't have the CD). I looked on the RCv2.2 site and it isn't there either. HELP :-zhelpSteve KCLE

Steve,The scripts are for V3, not 2.2, and the post regarding where to get them has apparently been pulled until V3 is released. You record, then you process them and add them to V3 when you have it.So you don't need to worry about it right now.

OK. That makes sense now. I'm getting ahead of myself (again) :-lol Steve
