December 19, 200223 yr I really am having trouble with the "international" set of controllers RCV3 uses. Is there no way to simulate flying in the good old US of A? Right now it sounds like I'm flying somewhere across east Germany and on into Poland! Jeez it's bad! I don't really mind Euro controllers, but I am flying around the West coast and it's annoying to hear some of these voices that totally don't fit into my fantasy world! If that can't be done, then I'm heading back to MS ATC.You guys did a huge amount of work on this, and I truly appreciate that. It's just the odd accents I can't handle.Noel Noel System: 9900X3D Noctua NH-D15 G2, MSI Pro 650-P WiFi, G.SKILL 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000, WD NVMe 2Tb x 1, Sabrent NVMe 2Tb x 1, RTX 4090 FE, Corsair RM1000W PSU, Win11 Home, LG Ultra Curved Gsync Ultimate 3440x1440, Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case, TCA Boeing Edition Yoke & TQ, Cessna Trim Wheel, RTSS Framerate Limiter w/ Front Edge Sync. December 19, 200223 yr Noel,Since you asked, yes you are bigoted (LOL), now for your information, it takes hours to record all the items you hear from the controllers. Our good buddies are from all over the world, the UK, Greece and Italy, just to name a few. These guys spent hours of their time recording these voices, Which by the way they did an excellent job on. Of course the "yankee" crew of us also spent a lot of time doing the same thingNow since you like to hear only yankee voices, just go into the winwood directory and delete the wav files from folders 2, 5 and 8. I would also suggest you backup these folders before you delete anything. However don't complain if you fly to Europe and now you only hear yankee voices.By the way Noel, if you travel outside of the USA, don't be surprised when someone comments to you how "odd" your accent is.Bob Johnson
December 19, 200223 yr Try page 100 (on) of the manual Noel. Oh and just as a point, nota flame or any such thing. But do you really believe there aren'tcontrolers in the "good old US of A" with accents ? ;) If youwant it as "real as it gets". Get used to accents :-) .Personally I kinda like the "accents", its a nice change fromlistening to the same North American drawl for 4 or 5 hours.Jim
December 19, 200223 yr I can't remember exactly where I was, Alexandria, Meridian or Baton Rouge, but around there somewhere there was an approach controller with a British accent. Can't remember where, but it was somewhere around there when I was in pilot training. Kinda cool, actually.Lobaeux
December 19, 200223 yr No problem Noel,I'll not lose sleep about not fitting into your fantasy world :-lolAll the best,JohnController number 10 (the Limey)

December 20, 200223 yr Author I'm sure there are plenty of foreign controllers in this country, however it seems like the last several flights I have taken have been about 50% foreign controlled, which I don't believe represents what realworld pilots experience in US airways, certainly not where I live. I think the other factor is that the way words are strung together sounds just a bit too unnatural to work for me. I can truly appreciate the huge undertaking RCV3 has been in time and coordination etc, and I have no problems sending my $$ to support this kind of innovation. I'm a bit spoiled by the realistic sound of the default ATC to give it up, even with its limitations.Thank you again for your dedication and hard work. I will try fiddling with the voice folders as advised and maybe this will get me back on board. I was an avid user of RC in the past.Noel Noel System: 9900X3D Noctua NH-D15 G2, MSI Pro 650-P WiFi, G.SKILL 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000, WD NVMe 2Tb x 1, Sabrent NVMe 2Tb x 1, RTX 4090 FE, Corsair RM1000W PSU, Win11 Home, LG Ultra Curved Gsync Ultimate 3440x1440, Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case, TCA Boeing Edition Yoke & TQ, Cessna Trim Wheel, RTSS Framerate Limiter w/ Front Edge Sync. December 20, 200223 yr Commercial Member download the recording utility and scripts. obviously the more controllers we have, the better we can put the right accents in the right places. JD Read my blog
