January 6, 200620 yr I just got my RC! Yeah! Now my challenge........When I use FS NAV as my flight planner, do I push the Fly Plane button on the FS Nav and the AP, or do I leave all that up to RC? I know how to make a plan and load it, however once I get clearance and take off, the plane starts to wonder...the co-pilot takes over the plane, but goes off course right away....So much for the planner? Help?Paul
January 6, 200620 yr Commercial Member fsnav isn't going to know where rc is pointing you. you need to fly the plane. or at least give the plane to the rc co-pilot so he can fly the plane. i use the learjet 99.99% of the time, and the rc co-pilot will work fine.listen to rc, follow what rc tells you to do, you'll be fine.jd JD Read my blog
January 6, 200620 yr Hi Paul,Once RC tells you to resume own navigation go to the list of wp's in FSNav, right click on the waypoint you are flying to and choose 'Fly Flightplan from here'. That should work.Make sure you only have FSNav controlling the heading of the aircraft. You'll have to set the altitudes. All the best,John
January 6, 200620 yr Author Thank you for your words of encouragement and advice! The only thing that I am still puzzed over is, going back to my original concern......After entering the flight plan into RC and preparing to begin my flight, do I press either the "Fly Plane" or "AP" within FS Nav?Thank you,Paul

January 7, 200620 yr Author Is there someone with FS Nav experience who could help me with this? I feel so ignorant as to getting this to work! I load the flight, everything is working great! However, when I take off and I go to departure, I give the jet over to the co-pilot to fly (Ctl Sht M) and the jet starts to wonder, never going where it is supposed to???Paul
January 7, 200620 yr Paul, when you enter the flight plan in RCV4 , You have 2 option, 1 is to let the RCV CP to fly it for you, and that if it is a standard AUTOPILOT for the aircraft, but to do that you have to go to FSNAV and in setting options in the FMS windows you have 2 options 1- is to let FSNAV full automation or you decide what you want, so in option 1 I use to set heading then spead and ALT manually , and leave the 2 option full automation in case you want the FSNAV to fly for you the Flight plan. The aircraft must have a standard FS9 autopilot, then you go to FMS windows which is the third one on the left of FSNAV and make Sure you press on M1 which is the one you or RCV4 decide the level and heading not the plan premade by FSNAV, that will allow the copilot of RCV4 to handle it for you. Also by doing this you can choose Fly FLT plan by FSNAV and you can decide the level and speed but the heading will be done auto for you, just in case RCV4 ask you to go down or up.The M2 will allow you to fly the plan as premade by FSNAV not the way RC wanted that's why I never use option M2.Hope this will help you a bitBest RegardsWalouigihttp://www.oncourse-software.co.uk/forum_images/fdc_beta.jpg
January 7, 200620 yr Hi Paul,And to repeat what I said in an earlier message, once RC tells you to resume own navigation go to the list of wp's in FSNav, right click on the waypoint you are flying to and choose 'Fly Flightplan from here'. That should work.Make sure you only have FSNav controlling the heading of the aircraft. You'll have to set the altitudes. Walouigi has given advice on how to set up FSNav to do this,Once RC starts vectoring you again (for example once you contact approach) you need to take back control of the aircraft from FSNav.All the best,John
