January 24, 200620 yr I was doing a flight from KMFR to KBFI with RC4. My first course was north 340 deg. After a while I was told that I was of course and was directed to turn back south 170 deg. After that I was given new vectors making a circle back to my course. And at each of these vectors I was told the first time I was given them that it was not the first time I was of course.
January 24, 200620 yr I've had this happen to me as well, and discovered the cause. If you have an initial leg that is very short - say the airfield to an on-field VOR, and don't actually fly that leg, but skip to the next leg (KATL - ATL - noone is an example), the ATC controller feels that you have missed a leg and are off course. You will be directed back until you fly that first leg to his/her satisfaction - simply fly back (not forgetting to reset the gps leg) and all should be well.DJ

January 24, 200620 yr Commercial Member or get rid of the first checkpoint if you're not intending to fly a departure procedurejd JD Read my blog
January 24, 200620 yr Req Dir CP is available in Center airspace only, keep that in mind. As John said, the best way is to not include the on-the-field checkpoints in the front end. Merge to your airway with an intersection down the road, selecting DP w/Alt restr. You'll sim the same thing that way.
