EDDF Wayout Waypoint Aiport not recognised

Recommended Posts

Hi,My first flight using RC4 and all was well until I approached TOD. I had no ATC instruction to descend and therefore after about 10 minutes I HAD to descend. I then noticed in the ADVDisplay that my next waypoint was 3000 miles away, and ATC then vectored me towards this waypoint!!I have checked both the FSBuild flightplan, and the FS2004 one and all the waypoints were right. I have just checked the RC4 program and for some reason it did not see EDDF as the Arrival airport under controller info. In the CSV File EDDF does not exist!!Can someone please advise as to what may have occurredThanksDrayton

There is one issue I have had occasionally come up with FSBuild 2.21. If you look at the map of your plan does it show any weird paths between waypoints? Some waypoint names and navaids are duplicated and incorrect (long) legs can be created manually or by autorouting. If you do have an incorrect geographic location caused by duplicate names, in the route tab first field click on the name of the suspect waypoint and it should give you a dropdown of locations used by the same name. You pick the one with the best location (lattitude and longitude) compared with the rest of the waypoints. If this is not the problem then:After RC4 was installed, did you run the Rebuild Scenery DB? This interrogates all of the scenery data including AFCAD and AFxxx files to get your airports and airport data, runways, navaids, etc. regarding departure and destination. I checked my data which for most of Europe is standard and EDDF is there. I looked at (carefully) the a4.csv and r4.csv files and EDDF has entries.Do you have any add-on scenery for EDDF installed?Any time you alter airport scenery it is a good idea to run this utility. If you happen to have Aerosoft German airports or MegaAirport Frankfurt (which I just ordered) installed I'd run the freeware AFCAD utility and insure all is OK with EDDF. Insure in AFCAD when searching for EDDF on Open Airport, only a default and at most one other afcad data file exists. On the Aerosoft site under FAQs and support, there are some notes and service packs and patches for these including some for EDDF.Run the Rebuild Scenery DB again and see if EDDF now makes the Controller Page. If it does not, go to your FS9 root directory and in Wordpad or Notepad open the file runway.txt and search for EDDF a few times. This file is a log of what the utility does and examine all entries regarding EDDF to see if all was well.Right now I have a PAI AFCAD for EDDF. The utility at first installed all the default runways. When it found the AFCAD it deleted those runways and then proceeded to install the AFCAD runways. This happens according to priorities set in your FS9 scenery.cfg. So use the runways.txt file to insure nothing is incorrect regarding the building of the database files used by RC4 that may be caused by scenery manipulation by add-ons including scenery or AFCAD .bgl files. Here are the extracts regarding EDDF frfom my runways.txt file:Airport EDDF N50:01:59.9958 E008:34:13.9995 364ft Runway 26L/8R centre: N50:01:53.2254 E008:33:01.9290 364ft Start 26L: N50:02:06.7014 E008:33:58.4664 364ft Hdg: 249.6 true Hdg: 249.620 true (MagVar 0.000), CONCRETE, 8189 x 148 ft Primary ILS: IFWL 111.35*** RWS *** EDDF0261 Lat 50.035198 Long 8.566240 Alt 364 Hdg 250 Len 8189 Wid 148 ILS 111.35 Runway 7L/25R centre: N50:02:19.9183 E008:33:38.9001 364ft Start 7L: N50:01:58.0197 E008:32:07.0430 364ft Hdg: 69.6 true Start 25R: N50:02:41.8493 E008:35:10.7572 364ft Hdg: 249.6 true Hdg: 69.620 true (MagVar 0.000), CONCRETE, 13099 x 197 ft Primary ILS: IFNE 110.10 Secondary ILS: IFNW 109.50*** RWS *** EDDF0071 Lat 50.032784 Long 8.535290 Alt 364 Hdg 70 Len 13099 Wid 197 ILS 110.10*** RWS *** EDDF0252 Lat 50.044960 Long 8.586322 Alt 364 Hdg 250 Len 13099 Wid 197 ILS 109.50 Runway 7R/25L centre: N50:02:01.6479 E008:33:37.2697 364ft Start 7R: N50:01:39.7493 E008:32:05.4078 364ft Hdg: 69.6 true Start 25L: N50:02:23.5789 E008:35:09.1316 364ft Hdg: 249.6 true Hdg: 69.620 true (MagVar 0.000), CONCRETE, 13101 x 148 ft Primary ILS: IFSE 110.95 Secondary ILS: IFSW 110.70*** RWS *** EDDF0072 Lat 50.027710 Long 8.534836 Alt 364 Hdg 70 Len 13101 Wid 148 ILS 110.95*** RWS *** EDDF0251 Lat 50.039886 Long 8.585870 Alt 364 Hdg 250 Len 13101 Wid 148 ILS 110.70 Runway 18 /36 centre: N50:00:59.4184 E008:31:34.3030 364ft Start 18 : N50:02:02.3930 E008:31:33.4515 364ft Hdg: 179.5 true Hdg: 179.500 true (MagVar 0.000), CONCRETE, 13110 x 148 ft*** RWS *** EDDF0180 Lat 50.034004 Long 8.525959 Alt 364 Hdg 180 Len 13110 Wid 148 FSM ATIS for EDDF=1802 FSM A/P EDDF, lat=50.033333, long=8.570556, alt=364-------and when finding the AFCAD------=============================================================================......PAI-AF2SsceneryPAI_AF2_EDDF_DEFAULT.bgl=============================================================================Airport EDDF N50:01:59.9958 E008:34:13.9995 364ft Delete all runways!*** DEL *** EDDF0071 Lat 50.032784 Long 8.535290 Alt 364 Hdg 70 Len 13099 Wid 197 ILS 110.10*** DEL *** EDDF0072 Lat 50.027710 Long 8.534836 Alt 364 Hdg 70 Len 13101 Wid 148 ILS 110.95*** DEL *** EDDF0180 Lat 50.034004 Long 8.525959 Alt 364 Hdg 180 Len 13110 Wid 148*** DEL *** EDDF0251 Lat 50.039886 Long 8.585870 Alt 364 Hdg 250 Len 13101 Wid 148 ILS 110.70*** DEL *** EDDF0252 Lat 50.044960 Long 8.586322 Alt 364 Hdg 250 Len 13099 Wid 197 ILS 109.50*** DEL *** EDDF0261 Lat 50.035198 Long 8.566240 Alt 364 Hdg 250 Len 8189 Wid 148 ILS 111.35 Runway 7L/25R centre: N50:02:19.9183 E008:33:38.9001 364ft Start 7L: N50:01:58.0197 E008:32:07.0430 364ft Hdg: 69.6 true Start 25R: N50:02:41.8493 E008:35:10.7572 364ft Hdg: 249.6 true Hdg: 69.620 true (MagVar 0.000), CONCRETE, 13099 x 197 ft*** RWS *** EDDF0071 Lat 50.032784 Long 8.535290 Alt 364 Hdg 70 Len 13099 Wid 197*** RWS *** EDDF0252 Lat 50.044960 Long 8.586322 Alt 364 Hdg 250 Len 13099 Wid 197 Runway 7R/25L centre: N50:02:01.6479 E008:33:37.2697 364ft Start 7R: N50:01:39.7493 E008:32:05.4078 364ft Hdg: 69.6 true Start 25L: N50:02:23.5789 E008:35:09.1316 364ft Hdg: 249.6 true Hdg: 69.620 true (MagVar 0.000), CONCRETE, 13101 x 148 ft*** RWS *** EDDF0072 Lat 50.027710 Long 8.534836 Alt 364 Hdg 70 Len 13101 Wid 148*** RWS *** EDDF0251 Lat 50.039886 Long 8.585870 Alt 364 Hdg 250 Len 13101 Wid 148 Runway 18 /36 centre: N50:00:59.4184 E008:31:34.3030 364ft Start 18 : N50:02:02.3930 E008:31:33.4515 364ft Hdg: 179.5 true Hdg: 179.500 true (MagVar 0.000), CONCRETE, 13110 x 148 ft*** RWS *** EDDF0180 Lat 50.034004 Long 8.525959 Alt 364 Hdg 180 Len 13110 Wid 148 FSM ATIS for EDDF=1802 FSM A/P EDDF, lat=50.033333, long=8.570556, alt=364=============================================================================Hope this might help.
