August 3, 200718 yr Hi, I was taxing to runway 27 at KSAN when all of a sudden the two aircraft infront me me stop on the taxiway and are holding for aircraft taking off and landing. Is there another way around this, since it seemed to stop all taxi traffic heading to runway 27 and caused quite a backlog behind me since we stayed on the taxiway for a good 10 minutes waiting for all the departues near the 27 holding point. We were quite a bit away from the holding point. Thanks,Bill Asus Tuf Gaming Plus B550 - Ryzen 7 5800X3D - Asus GeForce 4080 RTX OC Edition - 64GB DDR4 (3600Mhz) - EVGA 850W Power Supply - 2X 1 TB NVME PCIE gen 4 - Windows 11 (25H2)
August 4, 200718 yr Commercial Member i don't think i'm freezing them. i only freeze the ai at the front of the line.i'm guessing that you've rebuild the scenery databasethis might be an anomaly at this airport, whereas it's not a problem at 99.99% of the airports.you can always make a log, send it to me, and i'll take a look at why i'm freezing themjd JD Read my blog
August 4, 200718 yr Author Thanks, Ill take a look at the airports afcad file.Thanks,Bill Asus Tuf Gaming Plus B550 - Ryzen 7 5800X3D - Asus GeForce 4080 RTX OC Edition - 64GB DDR4 (3600Mhz) - EVGA 850W Power Supply - 2X 1 TB NVME PCIE gen 4 - Windows 11 (25H2)
August 4, 200718 yr There are some things you can do in FS9 to reduce the takeoff queue.Get this freeware AI Smooth from here:http://www.sg-flightware.de/which runs on FS9 and FSX. Set it NOT to respond to user aircraft to avoid interference with RC AI control. Adjust the setting to space out landing aircraft. By doing this aircraft taking-off can squeeze in-between arrivals.Look in the AVSIM file libraries for FS9 Configurator by Ken Salter. It has a function to speed up AI taxiing (this utility works in FS9 - don't confuse it with AITaxispeed for FS8). AI can be made to exit the runway faster. I recommend just a slight increase in taxi speed. I forgot the .dll file it modifies or if it automatically gets backed up. See the docs.If you have a payware registered full version of FSUIPC you can set a hot key combination to toggle AI on and off. If you have Active Sky 6 or above it has a refresh AI function built into its interface. You can use either of these methods to dump AI that made the well known mad rush for takeoff when you load a flight in FS. You can also flush AI by going into the FS time and advancing it a couple of minutes. If you have stalled AI at a specific airport use AFCAD's fault finder to see if you have any broken taxi links. Read the AFCAD help file and make sure your holding points are within a starting radius as specified from the runway center-line. It also helps to put a normal taxi-node almost touching a hold-short node.Hope this helps.
August 4, 200718 yr Author Hi Ronzie, I have tried all of what you mentioned on the forms. I have attached my current KSAN afcad with a visual explanation of what happened. I thought traffic froze for landing aircraft, however it seems that it freezes for departing aircraft too. I guess since KSAN is a single runway airport it makes the situation a bit harder. Plus if you look at where I was waiting, an aircraft landed and too the exit in front of us, this caused major gridlock since we were head to head to him. 1. I have: AI Smooth (latest version)2. I have FS9 Configurator and mildly increase the taxi speeds for exiting the runways Asus Tuf Gaming Plus B550 - Ryzen 7 5800X3D - Asus GeForce 4080 RTX OC Edition - 64GB DDR4 (3600Mhz) - EVGA 850W Power Supply - 2X 1 TB NVME PCIE gen 4 - Windows 11 (25H2)
