  1. Greetings,Do you not get any of the SB text in your FS window? Generally, at least on my system, when running SB on PC2 and FS on PC1, I will only see the text once, scrolling at the top of the screen like the ATIS messages, et al. It won't stay there forever. Perhaps a little more information will be helpful:Do you get the "X has joined the session" messages in FS when you start up SB? Exactly what is your startup sequence? FS, start multiplayer session, fire up wideclient on PC2, then SBHost, and then Squawkbox? Thanks.
  2. If there is I know for a fact that I, for one, can wait until well after MSFS:COF is released for it to be published ;)
  3. I tried both the clickbox in FS and the selector in display properties. I hadn't installed/tried Rivatuner.Thnks,P
  4. Greetings,It wasn't on :) In my experiments I had tried all levels of filtering from 0 to 8 with and without the sharpening clickbox selected. Thanks for the tip tho,P
  5. Greetings,Yes, exactly right on the symptoms - only 2d panels (all), nothing on the VC's or exterior views. Anistropic setting makes no difference tho. It's only FSAA that exhibits the issue. The system is an AMD XP2200+, Soyo 333 Platinum, 1G RAM, and the FX 8600.I've tried all the FX supporting drivers and it's an issue that runs through all the drivers, so I guess it's back to exchange for an ATI 8700. (and yea, I would wait for the new ATI card, but the card before this one fried so it's not like I can just take it back as defective and wait).Anyway, thanks all.P
  6. Well, I'm certainly thinking of wearing earmuffs while using it like I do for my leafblower :)They *REALLY* need to find a quieter fan. I mean, really, it sounds like an APU.. I know, I was at the airport yesterday ;)
  7. Greetings, know this is only slightly off topic, but here goes:I just picked up one of the new PNY GeForce FX 5800 card (ow, my ears, this things fan sounds like an APU...) but if I have any anti-aliasing on, 1/2 the main cockpit window (the bottom where the guages are etc) is fuzzy, and then if I hit alt and go into the menus and back, or change views, it'll fuzz out and become illegible. Doesn't happen on any external view, but happens consistantly with any anti-aliasing on. Was there a fix for this (I recall having seen something like this mentioned here before), or was it a new version of the Detonator drivers?BTW, the new 43.30's are real bad, they lost half of the available resolutions (at least on my install), and the 43.00's are the newest driver that supports the FX cards (at least that I can find)...Thnks in advance,P
  8. I have XP, CH Pro USB yoke and pedals, and PIC and PS1 and have had no problems with this combo either.Latest CH Control Manager and disable power-saving in XP's power tab for the USB device and I've not had a problem with it for what, well over a year now.Good luck,P
  9. The packs (simplified) are part of the HVAC system of the aircraft, as well as providing controlled airflow for pressurization. For the 74x generally at least 1 is turned on when the crew arrives for the pre-flight, all but one are turned off when starting engines, all are turned on during taxi (unless you need extra duct pressure for anti-ice, but all are turned on after liftoff regardless because they do the pressurization and you need them for climb), and all but 1 are turned off after parking at the destination (so you keep the cabin comfortable for disembarking the passengers).Course, this is highly simplified...Take care!P
  10. I have to agree, this latest version of ServInfo is absolutely great, and the map functionality is really cool. Thanks!
  11. Yea, I'm puzzled too, I had an Asus A7V-266 and am currently running a Soyo KT333 Platinum and have run my CH Prod USB yoke/pedals fine since the latest Control Manager software came out for XP?Luck!P
  12. Is your battery dead?FSUIPC extend battery unlimited, go back to the default Cessna and make sure all the switches are on including magnetos, or use (been a while, ctrl-e?) autostart to start the engines and they'll be engaged.Good luck!P
  13. Or perhaps pull the winds aloft data and auto-fill for the points on the plan similar to FS_Meteo's planning function?Or, maybe a text import of meteo's planning output including winds and direction? Either method will allow auto-fill of the average wind direction/velocity as well with a basic sum formula....P
  14. Greetings,Am I imagining that field magnetic variation isn't taken into account when displaying winds on the dep apt/arr apt pages, but is taken into account on the manual wx entry page?Thnks!P
  15. Greetings,Yea, just downloaded the latest one (with the flightplan import function). It's still got the time anomoly, and I think I noticed something else - manually entering weather info on that button gets magnetic variation correction, but the automatically downloaded weather from the dep/arr page doesn't appear to have the correction applied?Happy New Year everyone BTW.P
  16. I have a feeling I figured it out..I do the same thing (create the plan in the FMC and then save it). The first thing it does is insert comment lines (starting with ; ) into the .rte - I couldn't get these to import properly, but I can get a file without the comments to import fine.See beginning:doesn't work:;C:Fs2002fmcwpnavdataFlightPlansBOSLASPR.rte FlightPlan generated by WCPSFMC;C:Fs2002fmcwpnavdataFlightPlansBOSLASPR.rte Origin Airport (General Edward Lawrence );C:Fs2002fmcwpnavdataFlightPlansBOSLASPR.rte Destination Airport (Mc Carran Intl )H,KBOS,KLAS, ,W,MHT,,0,42.868531,-71.369544,0.000000,0.000000,0,0,0W,CAM,,0,42.994347,-73.344000,115.000000,0.000000,0,0,0W,SYR,,0,43.160528,-76.204567,117.000000,0.000000,0,0,0Does work:H,KBOS,KLAS, ,W,MHT,,0,42.868531,-71.369544,0.000000,0.000000,0,0,0W,CAM,,0,42.994347,-73.344000,115.000000,0.000000,0,0,0W,SYR,,0,43.160528,-76.204567,117.000000,0.000000,0,0,0Take care!P
  17. Advanced autopilots like PIC, Dreamfleet, and PSS won't work with RC - it only interfaces with the FS2K/2K2 default autopilot and aircraft panels that rely on it. Other than that, I've used PIC and RC just fine.Best bet if you're not there to actually manipulate the MCP et al is to turn off traffic vectors, let RC handle comms, and be back when you're ready to come down out of descent ;)Good luck, P
  18. Greetings,I just grabbed the 3B8 and I've found something I think might be a bug in the dispatch page enroute/arrival time calucation:Here's the dispatch release page 1 upper-left section:DISP RLS B767-300ER WILCO767PIC(COA24) RLSD IFR COA24 PIC CAPT P.C. Clark DEP KBOS/LOGAN INTL/MASSACHUSETTS DEST KLAS/MCCARRAN INTL/NEVADA ENR ALT NILL ALT KLAX/LOS ANGELES INTL/CALIFORNIA TRIP DIST 2116 NM AVG WIND (HEAD) 74 KTS TRIP DIST W/WIND 2456 NM ALT DIST 215 NM ETE 0541 Now the upper right section:12/29/2002 9:48 LOCAL UTCETD 0838 1338ETA 1419 2219 COST INDEX 80 CRZ SPD M.80 INIT CRZ LVL F350 FINAL CRZ LVL F350 MAX CRZ LVL F410Now, if I'm leaving at 13:38 for a 5:41hr flight, should not the ETA be 19:19? I think you're applying timzeone correction (BOS->LAS is a 3hr dif) to the UTC section as well.Great planner tho, I did this flight within 3k lbs of projected fuel!P
  19. I'm sure someone like Ian will correct me, but if memory serves, almost all emergency slides are done pretty much the same: they have a bar attached to the slide which when pulled will activate the inflation mechanism. That bar is hooked into the appropriate place on the door/floor such that when the door is opened, the tab is pulled, the slide inflates. This is done by the flight attendants ("Flight crew arm doors for departure" or some similar announcment time) and obviously reversed after landing.Take care!P
  20. Greetings,The call was "traffic, 10:00, passing left to right". The traffic was 2000' above me. I then immediately get a 20 degree turn to the right vector, which if the traffic was at my 10:00 and moving right, puts me right into the same way it is going, right?I don't mind vectors, and I know the controllers know what they're doing, I guess I'm just trying to figure out if *this* controller knows what it's doing ;)P
  21. Greetings.Having owned now the last 3 releases of RC I can only say things get better each time. I am, however, just curious if I'm doing something strange or if I'm mis-interpreting what's happening.First, taking off KBOS I'm getting assigned 22L for takeoff. Which is fine, but the AI traffic is taking off from 33L instead and taxis via C to get there.. right accross my takeoff roll! Thankfully I was lookin out and managed to lift off early. Winds at the time were 230/13 and the MS ATIS and RC ATIS agree with the weather from FS_Meteo...I'm at FL350. I'm heading 270deg, on course. I get a traffic call for a Gulfstream 10:00 crossing right to left FL370. Then I get an instruction to turn 250 for traffic... Now, if the target is crossing right to left, and it's a left turn to get to 250 deg from 270 deg, am I not being turned *into* the same direction as the traffic will be heading? Shouldn't I be vectored 290 to go behind it, if manuvering is needed at all? Isn't 2K/opposite headings enough clearance to not manuver? Thanks in advance!P
  22. There's 2 ways: 1) Start up one of the MS default aircraft and turn on the MKR button. Then switch to PIC. Then you can save your situation, and the setting will be preserved. This is probabally the fastest way. 2) Add the FS2K2 radio guage to the PIC lower panel. I followed the directions that were posted here a while ago, not sure what they are right now - I'm not at my FS machine. This takes a little longer, but will give you the selector button for the markers, and also the COM2 radio.Good luck!P
  23. If it's just the FS2002 GPS guage, all they do is reference it in their aircraft or panel config, and since you already have FS2002 it opens the one that's there.Or are you saying that the fs2002gps.gau (don't know the exact name offhand) is being included in the FSD .zip?
