  1. Howdy KLM767,Connecting two computers together is fairly simple assuming you have Win98 or better. You need another video card that is a PCI card, it doesn't have to be a 3D card just any 2D card that is a PCI card,(another 3D card will work, just is not necessary). If you have an old card laying arouond doing nothing, use it, or buy the cheapest card you can find. Now pop it into your computer and hook up your second monitor. You can use up to 9 monitors however you need a seperate video card for each monitor.Once you have the card in and the second monitor connected Windows will find the second monitor when you boot up and give you a message on the second monitor to the effect that it is working and to configure the monitor to work. To do this right click an empty space on the desk top, click properties then click settings. You should see two monitors on the dialogue box. Check the box at the lower left that says, "Extend my desktop unto this monitor". Then move the second monitor that is shown in the dialogue box to the same position that your second monitor is occupying. Or in other words if your second monitor is on your left, move the monitor in your dialogue box to the left of your primary monitor. Now click apply, and you should see your desktop extended onto the second monitor. To move anything onto your second monitor, merely drag and drop it onto the second monitor. At first just move your cursor over there, if you have set it up correctly the cursor should move right over to the second monitor. To put anything from the flight sim over there, you must first undock the window before you can move it. For example in flight sim bring up the radio stack, right click the radio stack and then click undock window. Now just grab the window by the blue border at the top hold down your mouse button and drag it to the second monitor and drop it. You can move this dropped window anywhere, resize it, or whatever. If you close the window it should reopen right where you dropped it.Hope this is clear and helps,http://members.cox.net/wb5okj/sig500gp.jpgP.S. Make sure you have the drivers for your second video card installed. If both of your cards are nVidia cards the second card will use the same drivers the primary monitor is using, for example, in my case I use an nVidia G2 64GTS/PRO AGP as my primary, and for the secondary I use a Vanta PCI card. Both of these cards use the nVidia drivers so the Vanta will use the newest nVidia drivers with out a problem.
  2. Hello Keith,It depends on what kind of joystick you have, and a few other things as well.In the final analysis I belive it depends mainly on ourselves. There isn't a generic setting or one size fits all when it comes to controls and the input to those controls. I believe that we have to experiment and find what seems to be right for us.I simply leave the setting at the generic level and adjust myself to what the situation calls for. That is what we have to do in real life, in my opinion, as no two machines are ever the same. Every plane that you fly will feel different, and one must adjust oneself accordingly. This goes for planes, trucks, cars boats or anything else we can imagine or use. Machines are much like ourselves in this respect, each on is unique unto itself.Of course all of the above, is my humble opinion. :DRegards,http://members.cox.net/wb5okj/sig500gp.jpgOf all the things I've ever lost, I miss my mind the most.
  3. The installer insisted on installing to C:WindowsStartup on my machine. I drug everything out of the Startup folder to the FS2002 ADDON folder but haven't gotten around to see if it works yet. LOLhttp://members.cox.net/wb5okj/sig500gp.jpg
  4. You say what your nVidia drivers are, but you fail to say which 3D drivers you are using. Are you using the Wicked 3D drivers, or the nVidia Stero Driver along with the 23.11 or 28.32? In addition to the regular video drivers you have to have an additional driver. The Wicked 3D 4.11 will not work with a nVidia card, but the Wicked 3D version 5.02 Beta will work very well with my Geoforce 2 GTS at any rate. I at first tried the nVidia Stero driver whick does not work with My GF2, (drat the luck, as I would really like to use them), the Wicked 3D version 5.02 do work very well with the GF2 card. Again you must use two different drivers, one for your video card and another set of drivers for the glasses. Try downloading the version 5.02 and see if they will work better for you.http://members.cox.net/wb5okj/ArcherII.jpg
  5. In the United States, you are allowed to fly into Class B airspace, (Dallas, Chicago LAX, etc.), with a GA plane, you will be under ATC control of course, and these large airports have stiff landing fees, probably to discourage GA aircraft. LOL. In order to fly into class B airspace you must have a private pilot license, no students allowed unless you are checked out by your flight instructor.KDFW, Dallsa Tx, used to charge $25.00 for a Cessna 172 to land, that was back in 1996, I haven't landed there lately so the fees have probably changed, and I doubt if they have decreased. :Dhttp://members.cox.net/wb5okj/ArcherII.jpg
  6. Howdy Bob,Someone or somehow the mousetrails function probably got turned on. Go to StartSettingsContol Panelmouse; click pointer options, uncheck the box that says, "Show pointer trails". If this box is not checked then you have a problem. :) I'll bet that someone turned this function on though.Hope this helps, if not we will see if we can scare up a real guru.:Dhttp://members.cox.net/wb5okj/sig.jpg
  7. Howdy BobHere is a good link with lots of information about killing programs.http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk/startup_content.htmEndItAll2 does a good job in WinMe killing unimportant processes and leaving the important ones running, (most of the time), One may have to tweak EndItAll a bit with trial and error, but all in all it does a good job for me, again I use WinMe currently.EndItAll2 is an update to EndItAll and comes from Ziff-Davis, below is the link.http://www.pcmag.com/article/0,2997,s=1478&a=13909,00.aspHope this helpshttp://members.cox.net/wb5okj/ArcherII.jpg
  8. Actually,I had to do a system restore just moments ago. Microsoft told me via Windows update that they had a better video driver that was made for my HP so I thought, what the heck, I can always go back to 28.32 drivers if I don't like this new driver made by HP for my system. WRONG!after installation couldn't reboot, computer couldn't find system.ini, EMERGENCY DISK, to the rescue. Ran SCANREG /RESTORE, no joy, computer can't start. SHoot!!!! Bit the bullet safe mode, system restore, better than a complete reload of WindowsME. :)So I lose a bit of space, but out of 120 G I can afford a few megabytes. All in all, I don't see this feature as stupid at all, but a net for those of us that are not of the GURU types.http://members.cox.net/wb5okj/sig.jpg
  9. Howdy Brian and all,Yes I have the E-Dimensional glasses in the wireless version, which I like very much. Perhaps addicted to 3D would not be stretching it much. :)For those that have a GeForce 2 card try using the Wicked 3D ver 5.02 Beta drivers instead of the nVidia Stero Drivers. I know when I first started using the glasses, (Sept,14 2002 to be exact), I tried using the nVidia Stero Drivers. Hey this WAS an nVidia card right? Finally in desperation and a nudge from the E-D tech, I tried the Wicked 3d version 5.02 Beta. That did the trick, everything works perfect and I use the glasses with 100% seperation without a problem. Sterograp;hic 3D is simply amazing, the sense of altitude is greatly enhanced and using a plane such as the Canuck 80, (Bill Lyons, thankyou), the Commander115TC,or the Cheyenne 400 (FSD thank you very much), or the Archer II, (Thanks DreamFleet), the feeling of reality is simply amazing. The only thing missing is the tactile input from the plane itself.Downside: There are always, it seems, a negative lurking somewhere in the background. For the E-D glasses, it makes your screen about two shades darker. One may bump the gamma of your display up a bit and it helps. The glasses only work well with the virtual cockpits. The framerate hit on the 2D panels render them unusable, on my machine anyway. The virtual cockpits take a bit of a frame rate hit, but not terrible, about 10% or slightly less. The virtual cockpits are harder to read the instruments and gauges. The numbers are usually indistinct and difficult to read, but if you have experience on the plane you are flying, one can tell where the needles are without being overly concerned with the actual numbers.Over all the glasses in my estimation are well worth the expense time and trouble, although I don't use them on every flight. It really is fun to use them on short flights around the patch. Once you get the right drivers, and for me they were the Wicked 3D version 5.02 Beta it is not any trouble at all to set the glasses up.I don't believe there is any difference between the wired and wireless glasses. I have the Wireless, I didn't want to have to worry about a wire around my head. :D But I believe the wired glasses will work the same and as well.http://members.aol.com/zipkit/sig.jpg
  10. Howdy Andy,Yes I have FSFliteMax and I like it very much. However to use it right one must spend an extra $k50.00 US to get the sectional charts to use with it. The sectionals are not mandatory, but for the aforesaid amount one can get an entire set of US sectionals, (37 of them) plus 13 more assorted WAC charts or IFR, low or high in the mix which is a very nice deal in my opinion. Now as for the FSFliteMax itself, the weather radar is very cool, works just like a radar does in real life, and if you download real weather, one may see a thunderstorm at 200 miles from you. Several other features but these two are the biggies in my opinion, and the ones I use the most.Knowing what I do now after using the product, YES I would buy it again, and I will recommend it to anyone.Hope this helps,http://members.aol.com/zipkit/sig.jpg
  11. Howdy David,I had a bit of trouble with the shareware message and timeout. I fixed it by uninstalling completely FSFlitemax, then reinstalling FSFliteMax, then immediately installing the version 1.1 update, then imediately installing the 1.2 beta update. I then ran the register FSFliteMax again, copying and pasting from the original registration file that I recieved in the email. That did the trick, and all sems to be well. Actually there are a couple of little quirks that are not important and until the forum is back up at FliteMax, I won't worry about them. For the most part FSFliteMax works GREEEEAT. LOLhttp://members.aol.com/zipkit/sig.jpg
  12. Hello Mike,To use MS Paint, (which works very well for this process), simply paste your screenshot into Paint. Now if you know your screen resolution all we have to do is convert your screen resolution into the resolution you want to compress to. To do this you have to convert the numbers into a percentage. An example: Suppose we want to convert from a screen resolution of 1280x960 to a resolution of 800x600. Simply divide 800 by 1280, (1280/800), to get an answer of 0.63 multiply this number by 100 and you have the percent of compression you need or in this case 63%.Now all you have to do is go to MS Paint, and to get this resolution click Image, then click Stretch/Skew on the drop down menu, then put 63 into the boxes for Horizontal and Vertical in the Stretch,(top), box then click OK. Your image has now been changed to a resolution of 800x600. Goto File on the menu select Save As and name your picture and be sure to click JPEG FILE in the Save as Type window at the very bottom of the dialogue box. Be sure to save the image in a location that you can find later, and that is all there is to it. You will now have an 800x600 JPEG from a 1280x960 BitMap.WahLaa, Who would have,"thunk", it would be so simple. :DHope this helps:http://members.aol.com/zipkit/sig.jpg
  13. Here is the URL for FSDhttp://www.fsd-international.comI would like to add that the Commander is a very nice plane to fly if you are looking for a complex endorsement, also need a high performance endorsement to fly her.I own all of the FSD products and can heartily recommend them with out reservationsI also own all of the DreamFleet products and also heartily and unabashadly recommend them as well.I would recommend for thoose looking for a complex plane, the Commander, for everyday flying the Dreamfleet Archer can't be beat. One won't go wrong either way.http://members.aol.com/zipkit/sig.jpg
  14. On the FS2002 menu, click OptionsDisplayHardware, at the top of this page is the frame rate lock slider, slide it to the right untill the number 18 comes up.Hope this helps :)http://members.aol.com/zipkit/sig.jpg
