  1. I am waiting to see what this panel looks like in Stero 3D, looks to be a killer here.'Thanks for the work Geof and James
  2. Good Grief man,You are in luck indeed. Who needs clothes? SIM IN THE BUF!! Life gets simpler when you have nothing to hide.A no brainer here get all 3
  3. Just tried the 4071,s from nVidias site. Nice crisp textures, frame rates about the same as the 3082, but alas no support for Steroscopic 3D.:(If you use the ED glasses and the nVidia Stero Drivers version 3082, neither the 4071 nor the 4052's have support for these.
  4. These glasses are great, at least with a nVidia card. Here is a link to the driver update section on ED's websitehttp://www.edimensional.com/software_updates.htmlYou do have to get the drivers for WinXp.Hope you get them working, when they do work they are amazing. They are not with there difficultys but that is the fun part of using a computer. :D LOLIf all else fails you might want to try the Beta 5.02 drivers. I had to use them with the nVidia geForce2 64 PRO card. With my newer g4 ti 4600 card I have to use the nVidia drivers which would not work with the older g2.
  5. Howdy Shane,I will give you an easy solution, tell the wife that you absolutely must have a new weed whacker, get the credit card from her purse, perhaps when she isn't looking, then buy all three, the Archer, the Cardinal, and the SM260. Not necessarily in that order, but they are listed here by alphabetical order :)No need to go into the ethics of this situation, its simply a have to case. The price we have to pay is necessary, our punishement is deferred until she finds out, punishment is not instant so no use worrying about it. A win win situation if ever I saw one.Don't worry she will get over it, and who knows if you are really clever, it's possible no one will know!!!!!!!!!!!!!guilt will eventually subside, and this is the price we pay for simming.Sorry for not capitolizing the word guilt above, I just discovered my keyboard is going defunct.
  6. Howdy Shrink,I don't have the IR Tracker yet, however that is on the agenda next I hope, it seems like it would be a natural for the virtual cockpits. You move your head to pan the virtual cockpit. By moving your head a slight bit it will emulate the hatswitch control. The key here is learning to move just a bit and to hold your head steady on final approach. :) The tracker can be used to move your cursor instead of using the mouse among other things. That is, using your head as it were.I must say that the 3D glasses are really fun, not without problems though, the drivers have a tendency to drive one "round the bend sometimes. The drivers unfortunately are a bit cranky, especially if one is wont' to tweak a lot. ( I'm afraid that last sentece describes about 98% of us. After all flight sim is nothing more than a way to tweak your PC).I have had these glasses for over a year, I ordered them on Sept 10 last year. Go figure. The point is I have had well over a hundred dollars worth of fun with them. :DAlink to another 3D picture.http://members.cox.net/wb5okj/archerpanel2.jps
  7. Hello Rob,First Kudos for your SM260 a masterpeice if its field if ever there was one.I have a P4 1.4 gig HP machine which runs very well with any and all of Microsofts Flight Simulators for starters. When I started using steroscopic 3D I had for a video card a GeForce 2 64 Pro card which I ordered for this machine. At the time that card was the fastest on the planet which was why I ordered it. We all know that would last abut 2 weeks after buying it. LOL, But I digress. Using the Gforce2 card the nVidia Stero drivers would not work well, but after downloading the version 5.02 beta drivers from E-D they worked well. The GF4 card will not use these drivers, I must use the 30.82 nVidia Stero Drivers along with the regular 20.82 drivers. (Please note you must use two sets of drivers here, the regular drivers currently 30.82 that the card uses, and then also the 30.82 Stero Video drivers. These drivers work extrememly well with the G4 Ti4600 card. The monitor needs a fast refresh rate, the faster the better. Myl Hp 19" monitor only has a 85 refresh rate at 1280x960 resolution but I get very little flickering with this refresh rate. Again the faster the better, they recommend 100 but 85 does fairly well.It is money well spent in my opinion. 3D is at least to me is amazing and it helps my real world flying too. This is strictly my opinion however.Allow me to apoligize for errors or typos as I do not have time to proof read this. mail me if you need info.http://www.edimensional.com/index.html again E-D linkThe actual 3D e1uipment is from E Dimensions http://www.edimensional.com/index.htmlI have the wireless glasses which are 9$99.95 US, (the wired kind are $69.95 US). The wired and the wireless work the same, I just like the freedom of not having wires hanging around my head.
  8. Don't forget that there are aerobatic lessons in FS2002 itself. A bit simplified but a starting point anyway.
  9. You should see the virtual cockpit in steroscopic 3D!!!It is unbelievably realistic on a 19" display, I can only dream what it would look like on a 22" that would do 120hz refresh rate. Here is a link to a picture in 3D if you have the stero viewer. Of course if you have the viewer you have already seen the cokpit, so I am preaching to the choir. Perhaps someone hasen't gotten the SM260 yet, (I can't imagine who or why not), and they can look at it. Besides it is just pure fun to post these links. LOL :Dhttp://members.cox.net/wb5okj/sm260final.jpsSave the above picture to your harddrive with a jps extension and double click it. If you don't have the stero viewer you can save it as a jpg image, then look at it crosseyed until it comes into focus as a 3D image. No I am not kidding, it will work if you try it. Have to work at it for awhile until you can see it properly. :)LOL
  10. Howdy Noel,I have just upgraded to a G4 128 Ti4600 from a G2 64 Pro. with the G2 I couldn't use the nVidia drivers, had to use the Wicked 3dbeta 5.02. Since upgrading to the G4Ti4600 I have to use the nVidia Stero Drivers. These look a lot better and I don't have to use as much gamma as I had to with the G2. It seems to be brighter to me. There are other problems, sometime I have trouble getting the glasses to show 3D at all. I have found a workaround for this, I have to change my resolution to one higher than it was when I started the game. Iam able to run a resolution of 1280x960x32 at a rate of 85hz. That is the best I have been able to do. My monitor,(a HP v90 19"),will only go to 85hz, thats the end. However I don't get excessive flickering most of the time, once in a while I will get a quick flash or two but most of the time it does pretty well. There are some problems for instance the nVidia drivers cause more artifacts a doubling of certain items, for instance the VASI lights are doubled, Control Towers are doubled if I use 100% stero seperation. Not completely trouble free, however, I find it to be worth the time and trouble, the WOW factor of having the illusion of altitude, makes it worthwhile to me. The Wicked 3D beta 5.02 drivers I used to have to use, were more reliable, but did not put up as good an image as the nVidia drivers do. Having said all of that I don't do every flight in Stero, but when I don't use stero, it is akin to the Spearmint losing its flavor after a night on the bedpost. :D (Europeans, Spearmint is a reference to chewing gum stateside).
  11. Here is a 3D shot of the SM260 on final runway 17L at Wiley Post KPWA Oklahoma City, OK. My home airport.http://members.cox.net/wb5okj/sm260final.jpsAgain you need the E-D glasses and the nVidia Stero drivers, or you can view these using the cross eyed method. This is a small picture that will fit in a browser so will upload it here, use the cross eyed method to view it. :)
  12. Hello Craig,Yes I do have that problem sometimes. What works for me is to go to the Options Menu click SettingsDisplayHardware then change my resolution setting up one resolution higher, e.g. with a setting of 1024x768, I click on 1152x864, go back into the game and all is well. I've had to do this since I started using the GeForce 4. My old GEForce 2 would not use the nVidia Stero Drivers at all, I had to use the Wicked 3d drivers version 5.02 beta with that card. I never had the problem of the glasses not starting up with that combination. The GeForce 4 will not use the Wicked 3D ver 5.02 and I must use the nVidia Stero drivers. Actually the gain in reality is worth the pain, I guess. Another issue with the nVidia Stereo Drivers, I get a bit of a flicker that I never did have with the Wicked 3Dv5.02 drivers. Still these glasses are amazing to me. :D
  13. Howdy Stan,For a temporary height change, it is, Shift+Enter to raise the seat and Shift+Backspace to lower the seat, Spacebar will put you back in the default position. To permanently change the height of the seat, open the aircraft.cfg file, find under VIEWS this line: eyepoint=-1.0, -1.0, 2.4 //(feet) longitudinal, lateral, vertical distance from reference datumthe number to change is the last one, 2.4, change it by small amounts until the height is right for you. Be sure and keep a backup copy of your original file, just in case.
  14. Here is a link to a 3D picture of the SM.260 virtual cockpit. If you have the nVidia Stero viewer save the picture to your desktop and double click it. It should show as a page flipped 3D image.I won't put the picture here as I don't think you can view it directly from the internet, and no use using the bandwidth on the forum to no good purpose, or to a small audience anyway. :)In 3D the SM.260 is simply amazing. I'm using the GeForce4 Ti 4600 with the 3082 drivers and stero drivers, the visual quality above my older Gforce2 64 Pro must be seen to be believed. THE LINK: http://members.cox.net/wb5okj/sm3d.jpsBe sure and save it as a jps extension and not a jpg.hope this is enjoyable for some,
  15. Howdy OOPS,FSD International has done a great Commander 115 TC. It is payware and has blessings from Rockwell themselves. Here is a link to their main page: http://www.fsd-international.com/Just go to their webpage and click Recent Releases.
  16. Howdy Moth,Justin Tyme has done a very good Catalina Island. I can't remmeber his website but you should do a search and I am sure it will come up. He does payware scenery, very well I must add, but the Catalina Island scenery was freeware as well as a scenery for the Grand Canyon.
  17. Experience is a hard teacher, she gives you the test first, then the lesson.:D
  18. LOL I would call that Violet paint. Like it much. At first I thought that I was going to like the Archer a bit more, but the Cardinal grows on you, and I find after using it for a bit, the VC is as good or perhaps a tad bit better than the Archer is. I like both of them about equally though.Ciao
  19. Just to say thanks Geof,I really love to see your real world shots from the air. You and Peter Sidoli make my day when you two post. Thanks to for the flight sim version of your plane.Happy Days to you and yours.
  20. Howdy Roger,Very easy to capture a screen shot. Get the picture that you want on your screen, preferably in fullscreen then simply press the Prt Scr key. the Prt Scr is of course the shorthand way to say print screen :)After pressing this key that is right above the Insert key and the Home key, hit Alt+Tab this will minimize the full screen picture and allow you to bring up the Paint program, or what ever graphics program you use. If you are in a window instead of full screen simply bring up your Paint program. Once in Paint simply paste your screen capture into Paint. either right click in your Paint program, then click Paste or go to Edit on the menu and click Paste. The screen capture will be in the Paint program at whatever screen resolution you saved it and all you need to do now is Save AS, and you will have your picture.Happy Days to you,
  21. If you have an AGP card, (most likely if you have a GeForce2 or better), don't worry about the PCI texture size. If you do have a PCI card an old Vanta or something like that then leave the PCI texture size to the default limit. Again if you have an AGP card the PCI texture size is not relevant, I set mine to 2 Megs the lowest and don't worry about it one way or the other. Also don't worry about OpenGL settings for MSFS2002 or any other Microsoft program for that matter. Microsoft is to my knowledge only using their Direct X system in any of their games. I can't imagine Microsoft using someone else's technology in their products and leaving out their own brand of insanity :DEdit one typo :)
  22. Yes there is a way to force FS to run at 1600x1200x32, assuming your monitor and video card support that. Simply set your desktop resolution at 1600X1200X32. Now open flight sim go to Optionshardware etc. and you should see a listing for that resolution. Give it a try, thats how I get mine to show 1600x1200x32.I normally run at 1280x960x32 on a 19" monitor however.
  23. Another way to do this is to click, click, click your left mouse button as rapidly as you can until the engine starts. Usually about four clicks, I think, will get it kicked over and started.
  24. Here is a link to a post on this forum, (just a bit below us now), that explains how to do this with the Twinview GeForces. In fact the name of this post is Setting up Nvidia Twinview How to do it.http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/DCForumID8/8229.htmlI don't yet have a G4 but this post does a better job than I could if I did. :D
  25. I was just about to say George, "it is obvious, Tishma has enlisted the help of the Russian Mafia"!!!
