  1. To keep Windows from reloading your original nVidia drivers, you have to rename some INF files, here is how.Go to C:WindowsINF inside this INF folder are the original INF files that windows sees and uses to reload your original drivers that were preloaded on your machine, we must rename 4 of these files, I have named these files below and the easiest and best way is to change the extension INF to I_F.Here we go:NV3MS.INF change to NV3MS.I_Fnvaml.i_fNVHPM.I_FNVMS.I_FChange the above extensions and Windows will then ask you to supply the path to your new drivers. Note that the above names on your machine may be in capitol letters or small letters, the size of the font makes no difference, only the name of the INF files are important.Once you do this you may safely delete your old files and then install new files. http://www.guru3d.com has a samll freeware program called DetonatorDestroyer, you may want to try, It works in conjunction with Windows ADD/Remove application, to completely uninstall all nVidia drivers. Hope this is informative and helpfull!
  2. Howdy Sarge,Let me suggest first that if you are using the 30.87 Stero Drivers you should then use the 30.87 regular nVidia drivers. The 40.xx series drivers will not work, (or at least I have never been able to get them to work), with the 30.87 or 30.82 drivers. What works best on my system, is the 30.82 drivers and the 30.82 Stero Drivers. These seem to be the most stable, although the 30.87 work well as long as I use both of the 30.87 drivers. I am also using DX 9. DX9 works fine on my machine. My system is a P4@1.4Gig. the vidio card is a geForce4ti4600. I have tried the 40.xx Stero Drivers, and the 40.72 drivers, but they would not work well on my system. I have tried several different 40xx and 41xx drivers and have always went back to the 30.82 pair or the 30.87 pair. Either of these work well. For 3D stero, your Ansitropic settings make no difference and I don't believe you need ant-aliasing with stero, but I thing that AA will work with stero, just a large framerate hit. You should uncheck Transform and Lighting however, else things on the ground do not stay put. With T&L unchecked your VASI lights and towers will stay on the ground and not split into two parts. Vertical-sync must be left on.You must run in full screen,,(ALT+ENTER), as sterographic 3D will not work in a window. Sometimes when stero will not start, hit the ALT key twice, this will bring down the menu, then hide the menu, often this will force stero to work. If after hitting the ALT key twice, stero still wants to be cranky, bring up the Menubar and go to, OptionsSettingsDisplayHardware, and change the resolution usually one lower, than the resolution you were using, then if stero starts go back and change the resolution to what you had originally. This will usually force stero to start. Occasionaly stero will get cranky and not syncronize the glasses with the screen, if this happens you may have to change the resolution a few times, try one higher or one lower, usually a couple of changes is all you have to make. 3D works best with the virtual cockits, in the 2D panels, it pastes the panel against your screen and it appears you are looking out of a window. Using the virtual cockpit, it looks as if you are looking into a mirror. The Stero Drivers will not make any difference in any other graphic programs. or any program that is not running full screen.Good luck with your E Dimensional glasses. I have had mine for nearly a year and a half. There is a bit of a learning curve on how to best optimize the stero application, sometimes it seems to be a bit of a pain getting things to work right, however when it does work, it is quite amazing. Well worth the effort in my opinion. :)
  3. The person who used to publish MicroWings, his name is McKAy I think used to do this a lot. He would get a lot of attention from the other passengers, as he would fly MSFS and land at the same time as the actual plane was landing. I remember reading about it on MicroWings website back in the mid 90's.
  4. I never knew,(until now),that Sandy Claws was a musher!HAPPY HOLIDAYS to all and to all a GOODNIGHT!
  5. How is this?http://members.cox.net/wb5okj/saturn.gifHere is the link: http://www.apollosaturn.com/launch/launchgal.htm
  6. Howdy Rich,I haven't timed my load time for FS2002 but it does take quite a while to load. I dont think that your times are excessive. If the thing runs OK after loading I wouldn't worry about it. If I know I want to make a change from my normal default load out, I do so after the,"Fly Now", screen comes up. Sometimes I will change the time from night to day for instance, or change my location, I do that from the,"Fly Now", screen and save a bit of time that way.
  7. Howdy Phil,I just tried my setup out, and by ALT+TABBing to the desktop I did not lose my hotkeys. I did lose stero seperation totally, but to fix it all I have to do is go to the Menu bar hit OptionsSettingsDisplayHardware, and change my resolution. I usually change my resolution to one less than I had to begin with, open the sim with the new resolution, then go back and reselect the original resolution that I was using before I lost sync, and stero seperation. Sometimes its a bit of a pain, getting stero to work, but when it does work, it usually works well, and I find it well worth the time and effort of playing with it. Sometimes if stero quits working you may get it back by simply hittting the ALT key twice thereby bringing up the menu bar and then minimizing it. This will work at times and sometimes not. By changing the resolution ZI have allways found a setting that wuld work. By the way I am using the 3082 drivers and 3082 Stero Drivers. I am assuming that you also have an nVidia card and using the nVidia drivers. The 3087 drivers set works well for me, but I cannot get the 40xx series or above to work with stero on my machine. I saw the 40xx Stero Drivers are out, but they resolve down to the 3087 Stero Driver set, and they just will not do the trick for me. 3082 are the most stable by far that I have found.Hope this helps out somewhat:
  8. I would think that wheather the gentleman can or can't without permission, is none of our business. And I don't think anyone has to reevaluate anything.
  9. Here is the link to ActiveCam http://www.anticyclone.be/Actually you don't need any special tools to get screen shots. As you are flying and you see a picture you want to take, simply hit the PrtScr key. Minimize the flight sim window, bring up MS Paint or Photo Shop or Paint Shop Pro, or whatever your favorite graphics app. is and paste it to Paint or whatever you use. ( I use Paint because it is simple and quick). If you run multi monitors then you need to hit the ALT+PrtScr. If you don't use the Alt key PrtScr will copy both of the monitors to the clipboard. Useing the Alt+PrtScr key, will put only the active window to the clipboard.Hope this helps:
  10. It must be some kind of STEALTH plane. I can't see it. P.S. That's not a thumbnail, its a pinkie!
  11. YOU are 103% correct Eric. But that is the fun in it. :(Of course so are these smilies.
  12. Well! With the clarification of the new size being 400x60 rather than 140x60 I find I can go back to a reasonable picture and still be only half size. Ahh! Vanity raises its head doesn't it. :D
  13. Hey Lou,That one comes across very nicely, good contrast. In the interim, until I have time to experiment will go with this one. :-kewlFinally get to do my BFR today,(2100Z). Maybe I can come back with a nice picture from that adventure, to work into a new and smaller signature.
  14. This is better, small size make pictures impractical. Enjoyed everyones picture but such is the ways of improvement.
  15. Those who make the rules, get to break the rules. :D(Tongue firmly in cheek). At least thats what I tell my students. (Adult type).
  16. If you are using 16 bit color,(High Color), try going to 32 bit color,(True Color).
  17. Hello Barry,That is the way that FS does the pedals. It is true that after closing the window, and reopening the pedals window, that it has reverted back to simple, however notice,(you can still see the grayed out sliders), that the sliders are still set the way you last set them. The settings have been saved and all is well. If you want to change the settings again simply click the Advanced radio button, and it will light up and let you change them again. Once again these settings have been saved and are working even though it looks as if Simple is selected. Don't worry all is well with your rudder pedals, this is the way they are for everyone.I suppose that you won't believe me, just as in the last thread you had on this subject, people told you how the pedals worked, but apperently you didn't believe them either. Well we will just have to grin and bear it until we see if things have been changed in FS2004. :)At first I too thought that the pedals would stay on advanced just as the yoke does, but alas, such is not the case. A programming error probably but it is cosmetic only, the senstivities you set after clicking the Advanced button, do indeed take, and are saved from startup to startup.
  18. Hey Lando,BFR stands for Biennual Flight Review. The regulations now call it just the flight review, but being an old fogey I can't seem to get over calling it a BFR. Sounds more important that way anyhow. In order to keep flying in the real world one must do a flight review with a licensed flight instructor every two years. I am behind on mine right now so cannot legally fly until I do the flight review. You also must do a medical evaluation and physical every,(for me 2 years), but the length of time the medical is good for depends on your license and your age. Thanks for asking, gives me a chance to post and thereby keep my typing skill up a bit.
  19. Thanks Scott,I am always glad to get a response from a CFI. A bit of crying today I know, but I was looking forward to getting this done,(aren't we always). I took my vacation now to get this done. Actually this vacation is taken now so I can get a bunch of regulatory tests finished. I'm a CCDI,( Certified Commercial Driving Instructor, I teach people how to drive 18 wheelers and get them their first CDL), as such, I must do all the tests, 7 written tests, ranging from a 50 question test down to one with only 25 and a driving test with a State Examiner every two years. Have all my written done, my drive is scheduled tommorrow, probably raining and if so the State Examiners will not test in the rain. They don't want to stand in the rain while I show them how a pretrip inspection is done. :)Oh well, a cowboys work is never done.Promise to get rid of the crying towel next week.
  20. Howdy Alex,It would be cheaper to buy a used SkyHawk. :D
  21. Here is a link to a real world weather aviation site that I use. If yuo are flying on line or have constant internet access open a browser and get the info.Supposed to do BFR today. Look at the METARs for KPWA. NO Go today. Wx has been like this for about 3 or 4 days now. Worsening tomorrow.http://adds.aviationweather.noaa.gov/

  23. In the U.S. AM broadcast stations are limited to 50,000 watts maximum and there are not too many of them. Mexico limits there AM stations to 100,000 watts.
