  1. I am still hoping that somebody will come up with an answer.Abe
  2. Thanks Thomas.ALL ADDONS: aircrafts, sceneries, gauges....etc....What I was thinking is can I add EVERYTHING that I have in my original FSX folder(prior to SP1).....But watch for OVERWRITING files that SP1 has created and is using. I also realize that some main files like FSX.CFG has to be modified.I hope that this explanation is clear and also DO-ABLE.Abe
  3. So I installed SP1 on a clean FSX.What is the efficient way to restore or add ALL those files from my original FSX folder? To reinstall everything is going to be a NIGHTMARE.Has anybody done that? Thanks for any help or suggestions.Abe
  4. Thanks Wayup and Emile. And yes Wayup. I am doing a more extensive upgrade. A whole new system, with ATI 2900XT or XTX(if available), Core2 quad, Abit(I feel comfortable with that), 4 gigs of ram, full tower.I am always open to suggestions and new ideas. Thanks again.Abe

  7. That is what I am planning on doing. Getting quad-core, possibly extreme. I want to find out also about the 2900xtx if it was ever dropped completely. Then I'll have to settle on the 2900XT.Thanks.Abe
  8. Thanks Glenn.I am aware of the 2900xt and I have seen some of the benchmarks. And I did mention earlier that the 8800 edges it for display, but I want the 2900, like I mentioned before, for essentially video capture and FSX.I did hear that ATI is coming up with the 2900 XTX with 1Gig of ram. Are you sure that is not true? It would NOT come about? Thanks.Abe
  9. Scratch,My present system is a Pentium 4 @3.8 GHZ. I am using a 27" Dell and a 21" CRT sony. FSX runs fine with the sliders about half way roughly. As a 2nd monitor, I am thinking about Westinghouse 37" LCD with a res. of 1920x1080.I am thinking about upgrading to a Pentium Core 2 duo, possibly a quad extreme. I am waiting for the newer ATI 2900 xtx which supposedly would have 1GIG of Ram. I would have chosen the 8800 GTX but it does not have video capture capability, which I need.I am still asking advice about my potential setup.Thanks.Abe
  10. Thanks Danny. But I need a card with 2 DVI-I to support my 2 monitors of 30" and 27" and be able to capture video.Abe
  11. Never used VOX ATC. I am using both FS9 and FSX.Abe
  12. it's something to do with the distance from which the AI's labels become visible............ I think the distance is constant, you cannot adjust thatI have no labels of the aircrafts on the ground around me. But no problem with those in the air..........................Unless they are moving, the aircrafts on the ground are NOT ACTIVE flights unless they are moving for takeoff and landing. If you do a right mouse click on traffic, it shows only the type of aircraft, and it takes you there even though the aircraft is just sitting there.Abe
  13. What 'LABELS'?If you mean the labels of the AI's, that is easy to fix. You can do it under FSX......display..... traffic....Or under traffic tools.....settings.Abe
  14. Simply swap the traffic.bgl's in the scenery folder. Just rename the inactive one INACTIVE(or whatever). This way you can try one at a time.Abe
  15. I realize that the top display card is Nvidia 8800 GTX. But I need a card capable of video capture. The 8800 does not have that capability.I am considering the ATI 2900XTX, less powerful than the 8800, but has video capture. Also I need a card that supports 2 monitors, Dell 30" and Dell 27", both require DVI-I connections.Appreciate any help.Thanks.Abe

  17. Got it!! Thanks Guys.Abe
  18. I have not done this for a long time.I load a flightplan.Open up the GPS, which has my flightplan displayed.I flip the navigation toggle from Nav to GPS.I know I can change the heading for each leg of the flight manually. But can that be done automatically? I thought that could be done.If so, could somebody tell me the steps to take after the above? Thanks.Abe
  19. Thanks Bill. Now I can put to rest all the thoughts I had about tinkering with EXE AND DLL.XML.Abe
  20. Thanks guys.I think I have to reinstall the SDK to find out exactly how to implement DLL files in DLL.XML or EXE.XML or create my own. I was hoping that somebody had tried that and I would have applied their expertise.Abe
  21. Lost my traffic tool box....it does not show in FSX.How do you add another DLL to the existing DLL.XML. Also can you create another XML with a different name instead of adding to the existing one.Thanks.Abe
