  1. Not free, but FSBuild will do this, and pretty accurately if you have good data. You do not have to enter the data, but you can edit/create new data for your aircraft of choice.Good Luck.
  2. Edwin, Thanks for the reply. And, yes, sorry... I meant the Plat Edition, but that is what happens when you post when about to fall asleep & trying to get it out before you fall asleep.I will think about it a bit longer & see what I decide. And YES! The 9800 Pro is an amazing card. I too purchased it not long after release & have had it since then, except for a few days with the x800 AIW. I still get great frame rates on the newest games as well.:)
  3. Hey all,I have a semi-acceptable system, I guess. I have an x800xt, AIW (bah, I hate the AIW mess) already on board, but I have removed it & gone back to a 9800Pro for the time being. The reasoning is not due to problems, but rather I am wanting an x850xt Pro (no AIW), and I gave the old my my brother & sister in law for them to use, & allow the children to use.Anyways, what is the general concensus on the x850xt Pro? I would go AGP, as I am not worried about a future upgrade to PCI-e, as I will completely rebuild this system in 2-3yrs without a doubt, if not sooner. I am not too worried about frame rate issues, as I seem to do well with even the old 9800 Pro(128 lol), and 2GB of RAM, on a 3.4Without rambling too much, I am just curious about the thoughts on possible benefits to my system, as I am just a little concerned about FPS, but mostly I want to improve image quality substantially. My system spec's are below. Thanks for any opinions, as I am just undecided, where I usually am pretty comfortable with my own decisions.
  4. Oh how I miss the ability to get my own real world f/ps... But, as such, I would really appreciate anyone who could get this plan for me.Thanks in advance...
  5. Thanks for the great information. After a bit of sleep, and some time with the kids, I am going to continue reading through the CIVA INS manuals. I am very interested in completing a flight, transatlantic via INS navigation alone. Thanks all.
  6. Christian,Thanks! & yes, I did mean INS, but being at the 29hr mark to be awake when the post was made, I am not surprised I typed IRS. So, I am ready to go to bed now. Thanks for the information & link, I will look at them in about 5hrs.
  7. Hey all. I have searched Vatsim, the internet, & this forum with no luck in an attempt to find any quality information on navigating via IRS/IRU system alone. I have several aircraft that I think would be fun to use this, if I am able to learn the total package & not just the basic understanding I have now. Thanks in advance...
  8. Just to repeat what has been said, I regularly (to say almost daily) get severe turbulance even in clear skies & clear weather coming into my home airport of MQY in my katana, and that is over very flat, or very lightly rolling hills. I have had it rough, and while it is a very light aircraft, I have had back aches after experiencing it on occasion.the turbulance is probably not nearly as severe for an aircraft over 7000-1000lbs mark, but for my little 1720lbs Katana, it is ROUGH.
  9. Heya Oren,I actually use both. I use FSBuild for converting the plans over to the many FS forms needed for all of the addons I run.It can convert the plan to a lot of different utilities all at once, instead of you having to manually type it into each once before your flight. My personal build settings (for FSBuild to export the plan I create to XX locations) are for: SB3, FSInn, LDS767, FS9 just in case I want to use their ATC, PSS A320, and every other addon I have but cannot think of atm.Other than that, FSBuild has a lot of features that are very nice to use for the realism feel, such as the ability to print off a plan sheet with all fuel loads/burn numbers, waypoint by waypoint wx, or times & ETAs with room for you to document ATAs.If you are interested in the program without having to pay first, go to http://www.fsbuild.com/ & check out the free version. It has less features, but I think it will give you a somewhat general idea of how the program works.I am sure others can give you a better idea of the program, but I hope this gets you started anyways.
  10. Heya Jim,>There is a solution to both issues - flight planning and more>realistic and interactive ATC - VATSIM - and best of all it's>freeI could not agree more with what has been said there ^^.Vatsim is the best thing for (my) simming experience since finding the original FS & Falcon software. If you are capable of getting online during the weekend hours, there is a very large number of people online to control, and if you are on during the week, it is hit & miss. For the planning, FSBUILD hands down for your simming needs. If you fly real world, then there are limitless options, but they are all as good as the person telling you about them, as it is opinion.Either way, I would suggest you look up SB3, as it is much more software friendly, UI friendly with FSInn, and a blast to use. I rarely fly without online control anymore.Good luck in whatever you choose, hope it makes your sim that much better.
  11. Thanks for the reply. I found AFCAD 2.11 ( I think it is) to be the best for me, but I used SceneGenX for the runways & minor building, such as windsocks, VASI/PAPI such.It is for FS9, and... I think I am good to go with AFCAD.Thanks
  12. Hey all...I am completely redoing my home airport, & after lots of trial & error, I have the runways, VOR, ILS, & some other minor systems in. However, I left the default taxiways for now (for me to fly with atm), and I curious what would be the best & maybe the easiest for a beginner, program to start from scratch & get the taxiway system in without having to wait until I am 50yrs older.I expect the tediousness, but not as bad as I currently have it, and I really want to get those default taxiways out of there now. Thanks in advance for any help.
  13. Good pics there.Good to see another Nashvillian here as well. I am working for Nashville PD & building flight time at the moment, in the hopes to eventually get a 'real job' with anyone that will let me fly for them.Anyways, I will try to post some pics eventually if I have some time to fly anytime soon.
  14. Hey all!I have a question that maybe someone can help me with. I planned a flight using FSBuild to go from MIA to BNA via Level-D's 767. I loaded the plan into FS9, loaded the aircraft, got clearance, etc...I get airborn, & they spin me south, about 270
  15. Hello all!I am coming back from a reformat, and I remember the last time I was working with my AI traffic (UT) to get things looking good, I had stumbled across a program that I am almost certain I just had to click a button & it set airlines to gates all at once instead of having to chance each aircraft, & each gate. The problem: I cannot remember the name of that program, nor if I heard about it here, or elsewhere.I seem to remember it being something like AI traffic Organizer, or something to check flight data? But I do not think it was AITM.Any help would be wonderful.
  16. Many Thanks all!And yes! A sticky thread, or even sticky this one if need be, of 'must have' items, both free & payware, with a master list catagorized Payware/Freeware & then broken down into 'Environment' Aircraft' 'Panels' 'Scenery' etc.Would be great for those like me, that were into the current version at the onset of it all, & then faded away, only to return. Also, for those who are new totally, or those doing reinstalls so that they do not forget those essentials that make the sim complete.Anyways, thanks all!
  17. Hello all!I have just not been into the flight simulation thing for a while. I have a job involving aviation, and it is taking a large majority of my time.Well, I have come to a point where things are finally settled, I think. So I am looking for the essencial things for FS2004, i.e. The environment upgrade files, any amazing free/payware packs, texture updates, mesh, etc. Thanks in advance.
  18. I do not own a current version of FSMeteo, as I abandoned the program & the programmer long long ago. When Meteo first came out, I purchased it. & for a while I received email's with files in them for every update that was put out. Then, suddenly a year goes by & not a single email.I did not care, as I was happy, but then friends had a different version than I, and I began to wonder. SO I sent an email to Mr. Philbert, and received a reply, including a file & an appology for being left out of several updates. Well, the next update comes around, and no email again. I send another email & get the same reply as before, including a file.Well, finally at about the same time as Activesky was setting up for release, I sent a final email to Mr. Philbert about why my name had been removed from the list, etc etc... I never received a reply. Now, I have the purchase confirmation email still! YES, STILL! I keep them all! and I am still not receiving emails, nor update notifications, etc. that I should as a product owner (though that may have changed now). I don't care anymore. I am using a far better product, and not having the hassle I had with FSMeteo's owner.
  19. I have had the E-D glasses for over a year now, and I have used them three times total. I am disgusted with them. I just cannot get acceptable frame rate reading with the drivers, and also get a quality image. They are just not worth it to me, but I am just one opinion among many.

  23. Hey all!I am new to mesh, and I THINK I have everything I need to get started, a folder full of various programs, and a site with HGT data files. With that said, I am not sure how to get the program to execute the data processing.I have the *.hgt file in the same folder with the SRTM_3ARCSEC_TO_BGL file. I have tried just double clicking it, and running it from the command line within Win XP, all with no new files beind processed. So, what am I missing? Any help would be great. Thank you!
  24. I have to say, I whole heartedly agree with everything you have said above. I will take a good freeware over a great payware product all day long. The freeware artists really put things together for the community & I think more people need to show them some appreciation, and maybe, JUST maybe, they will reconsider staying freeware designers :)
