  1. Dillon, Thanks for the information, but I am a student pilot, and as my signature suggests, I am a real-world C130 Flight Engineer, so I have a working knowledge of aviation and aviation weather. The fact of the matter is that while on the ILS last night, the winds were right down the runway, and yet my aircraft was over a mile off of course, to the LEFT. I point the 'left' out, because everything I encountered seemed to have the aircraft left of course. If the winds were the problem, why would the aircraft be left of course while heading south, north, east, then west, all while the winds were predominately out of the west? Judging by your banner, you've flown the PMDG 737NG's, so you know that these aircraft track on an ILS very, very well, with both autopilots engaged, even in a stiff crosswind. What I experienced was not too strong of a wind, but most definitely, a discrepancy in the what the aircraft perceived as being 'on course'. The aircraft was off course, it seemed, magnetically. After my flight, I went and cleared all weather and tried again. I still got the same left of course result. So I started hunting down suspect files. I looked for some files in my FS installation and found one in the primary scenery folder under BASE. The file was called magdec.bgl and I reinstalled that file with the original file off of CD number 3. I will be testing this out this evening, and hopefully, I will know if my detective work paid off. I will post what I have found as soon as I get the chance. Thanks again.ChuckC-130H Flight EngineerDyess AFB, TXAthlon XP 2800+ | ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe | Antec TruePower 480 PS | 1.0 gig DDR PC2700 | WD 120 gig HD | WD 80 gig HD | Twin WD 160 gig SATA HDDs | SB Audigy 2 | ATI Radeon 9800Pro 128 | CH Products USB Yoke | CH Products USB Pedals | Nostromo n52 | Windows XP Pro SP2http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg

  3. Hi all, Well, it seems that a couple of days ago, I started to notice that my aircraft are tracking slightly to the left of the course line. For example, I flew the PSS A320 the other night from ORD-TPA. Winds were out of the west, and the aircraft was tracking left of the course line the mcdu plotted. I thought then that it was because of the winds. Well tonight, I am flying out of Mexico to PHX in the PMDG 737-700, and the winds are once again from the west, but the aircraft is still tracking left of the course line. Before I reach the next waypoint, the aircraft will always turn back towards the waypoint again slightly, but will continue to be left of course. And the final bit is when I was on the ILS for 25L at PHX, and my aircraft is tracking the ILS but it's about a mile off to the left of the runway. Heck, even the steering bar is showing me way left! Is there any way possible that something in FS got messed up, and if so, what file do I need to get fixed? I thought I had heard of something like this happening occasionally to others in the past, but I don't remember the fix for it. If anyone can shed any light on this, I'd certainly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.ChuckC-130H Flight EngineerDyess AFB, TXAthlon XP 2800+ | ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe | Antec TruePower 480 PS | 1.0 gig DDR PC2700 | WD 120 gig HD | WD 80 gig HD | Twin WD 160 gig SATA HDDs | SB Audigy 2 | ATI Radeon 9800Pro 128 | CH Products USB Yoke | CH Products USB Pedals | Nostromo n52 | Windows XP Pro SP2http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg

  6. I just installed WinXP and FS again after replacing some hardware. I've loaded up my FSGenesis scenery, Simflyers, and a few others like UK2000 stuff, and German airports. I've also loaded up some payware aircraft like PMDG, and some Flight1 stuff. I had all of this before, but never had the problems I'm having now.Somewhere along the line of doing all this installing, something has went goofy for localizers and ILSs. I can be airborne, lining up on the localizer, but there is no indication of a localizer on my gauges. By this, I mean no DME, if equipped, no steering bar, no GS, nada!! If anyone has any idea of what went wrong, and how to fix it, I'd greatly appreciate it. TCAS warning

Another good thing to be aware of is that TCAS may take you out of your aircraft's performance envelope if trying to react, particularly during an approach or departure. That is where thinking ahead of the airplane will save you, your crew and your passengers. That is why the pilot flying will always brief the approach and/or the departure, so things like this can be taken account of and a plan of action is in place.ChuckC-130H Flight EngineerDyess AFB, TXAthlon XP 2800+ | ASUS A7N8X Deluxe | Antec TruePower 480 PS | 1.0 gig DDR PC2700 | WD 60 gig HDD | WD 40 gig HDDTwin WD 160 gig SATA HDDs | SB Audigy 2 | ATI Radeon 9800Pro 128 | CH Products USB Yoke | CH Products USB PedalsNostromo n52 | Windows XP Pro SP2http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg

  11. Is this file modified by PMDG during the install of the 737NG? I ask because I am trying to run the FS9 update patch and it keeps halting when it gets to this file. 14. Hi, Thanks for the reply. I too thought that this could possibly be it, but someone also pointed out on the newsgroup that he could be mistaking the tail skid for an inlet door. I've never really seen a tail skid on a 767 close up, but it's another possibility to consider too, I guess. Anyway, thanks for the response :)ChuckAthlon XP 2800+ | ASUS A7N8X Deluxe | Antec TruePower 480 PS | 1.0 gig DDR PC2700 | WD 60 gig HDD | WD 40 gig HDDTwin WD 160 gig SATA HDDs | SB Audigy 2 | ATI Radeon 9800Pro 128 | CH Products USB Yoke | CH Products USB PedalsNostromo n52 | Windows XP Pro SP2http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg
  15. I subscribe to a couple of real-world aviation newsgroups and a 767 question came up recently that I was interested in finding the answer to also. I figured this was about the best place that I know of to post a question like this so here goes. The gentleman said that he had noticed underneath the fuselage at the back is a small flap, just forward of the tail. He also said that it appeared to have some sort of 'ram' to open and close it and he has always seen it open while the aircraft is on the ground. Now, I am by no means a 767 expert, but I am pretty sure that the APU inlet is on the top of the fuselage on the right side, back by the tail. I have no idea what this guy is asking about though, so if anyone can give me a good answer, I'd really appreciate it.Thanks!ChuckAthlon XP 2800+ | ASUS A7N8X Deluxe | Antec TruePower 480 PS | 1.0 gig DDR PC2700 | WD 60 gig HDD | WD 40 gig HDDTwin WD 160 gig SATA HDDs | SB Audigy 2 | ATI Radeon 9800Pro 128 | CH Products USB Yoke | CH Products USB PedalsNostromo n52 | Windows XP Pro SP2http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg
  16. Great pic!! I've always seen it from the other end though... I used to be a crew chief on KC-135R's at McConnell (KIAB), in KS. Last year, I started my re-training to be a C-130H flight engineer. I just moved down to Dyess (KDYS) in Abilene, TX and it is so much more fun than just turning wrenches! The only thing is, with a C-130, it's a much slower ride, LOLBy the way, I'm flying the BBJ2 right now from KBFI to KICT and it's flying great. It looks really nice too. You and the others associated with this project have done a great job, thanks!ChuckAthlon XP 2800+ | ASUS A7N8X Deluxe | Antec TruePower 480 PS | 1.0 gig DDR PC2700 | WD 60 gig HDD | WD 40 gig HDDTwin WD 160 gig SATA HDDs | SB Audigy 2 | ATI Radeon 9800Pro 128 | CH Products USB Yoke | CH Products USB PedalsNostromo n52 | Windows XP Pro SP2http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg
  17. Laurie, Awesome man, I'll be putting this through its paces tonight on VATSIM! The MMA you put out originally is really nice, I'm sure this one will be great as well. 18. Mr Metzinger's tutorial is offline for a bit as he is doing a new, up-to-date version since the new patch. I'm sure he'll have it out soon and it will be fantastic. Until then Droflas, I'd suggest you download the manuals from the PMDG web site and give them a good look-through. You'd be surprised how much you can learn just from reading those things!ChuckAthlon XP 2800+ | ASUS A7N8X Deluxe | Antec TruePower 480 PS | 1.0 gig DDR PC2700 | WD 60 gig HDD | WD 40 gig HDDTwin WD 160 gig SATA HDDs | SB Audigy 2 | ATI Radeon 9800Pro 128 | CH Products USB Yoke | CH Products USB PedalsNostromo n52 | Windows XP Pro SP2http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg
  19. If you happened to be flying with ActiveSky2004, that could have been it. They have had some problems in the past with the servers giving bad data and it makes the program go haywire, which in turn, causes your aircraft to accelerate uncontrollably and eventually blow out the engines, then the plane sor of flies itself into the ground eventually. Sound familiar? Anyway, Damian from HiFi says that he has fixed that problem so it shouldn't happen any more. One can only hope, it's very frustrating!!ChuckAthlon XP 2800+ | ASUS A7N8X Deluxe | Antec TruePower 480 PS | 1.0 gig DDR PC2700 | WD 60 gig HDD | WD 40 gig HDDTwin WD 160 gig SATA HDDs | SB Audigy 2 | ATI Radeon 9800Pro 128 | CH Products USB Yoke | CH Products USB PedalsNostromo n52 | Windows XP Prohttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg

  21. I'm getting the same thing. I just tried taking off out of Pittsburg and the plane went haywire. I believe that this happens when AS2004 gets a bad feed from the weather servers, or something like that. I guess I'll be flying today with the weather being implemented by Squawkbox instead. Technology is great, until there's a problem, and then it's just a pain in the back-side!! :( ChuckAthlon XP 2800+ | ASUS A7N8X Deluxe | Antec TruePower 480 PS | 1.0 gig DDR PC2700 | WD 60 gig HDD | WD 40 gig HDDTwin WD 160 gig SATA HDDs | SB Audigy 2 | ATI Radeon 9800Pro 128 | CH Products USB Yoke | CH Products USB PedalsNostromo n52 | Windows XP Prohttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg

  24. I know that there are a lot of really serious simmers to be found on this forum, and I was wondering where I would look to purchase a real-world 737NG operations manual. I have heard of one before but I don't remember the name of it or where to get it from. If I recall correctly, it started with a 'B', but who knows...
