  1. Dang Bill, I lived in Abilene for 5.5 years!I've been simming since FS5, been in the USAF since 1990. I've been a crew chief on KC-135Rs and Ts at KIAB for 13 years, then cross-trained and became an FE on C-130Es and Hs out at KDYS. I just moved over to the MC-130H and am currently located at KHRT. I love to fly and I love to sim! I have a few hours as a student, was working on my PPL, but then I cross-trained and haven't really gotten back into it. I thoroughly believe that because of FS, I was able to solo and do as well as I did in such a short time. I believe this will be my last assignment before I retire from the Air Force, so it's more than high time I finished my PPL! It's good to read a little bit about all of you, nice idea this thread!
  2. Thanks Norman and Dan.I went and reinstalled the 737NG, and tried out the 747 and MD-11. Neither of them would work, so I went in and reinstalled both of them, 747 first, then MD-11 and everything is fine again. I appreciate the assistance both of you provided. It is nice to have a forum where you can go and get a straight answer without a bunch of attitude from those that are "obviously superior" to anyone else that posts. Thanks Again & Blue Skies!
  3. Hey all, I was trying earlier today to do a quick flight with my 737-800 and the sim crashed twice on me sighting my main guage file as the culprit. I think that somewhere along the line, the file got corrupted, no big deal. My quick-thinking mind told me to just go ahead and reinstall the -600/-700 then the -800/-900 and all necessary updates, but then I paused and wondered... If I do such a thing, will that ruin my installations of my 747-400 and MD-11? I thought I remembered reading something along those lines back after the MD-11 came out. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, and thank you in advance.
  4. Thanks Dan, much appreciated as always...

  8. Well, I bit the bullet, and went and put together a new system. I have the XFX Nvidia 9800-GX2 BE, and was wondering what the best drivers are for FS9? UPS Livery

What Steve is referring to is the fact that there has been some posts saying that there was a legal issue with it. I don't personally see how this can be necessarily true as there are many other repaints in UPS colors out there for other aircraft. There has been some talk on another forum that a repainter attempted to do up a -400F in UPS colors, but there is a slight problem with the repaint kit that prevented the repaint from coming out looking decent. As for the fact that UPS does not fly -400s. This is true, but UPS also has some 400Fs on order from Boeing. They should be delivered within the next year or two. Now, for that official answer from the PMDG team...ChuckC-130E/H/H1 Flight EngineerDyess AFB, TXAMD 64 3700+ASUS A8V Deluxe 2.0 gig DDR400 Corsair TwinX 3200XLC2ProWD 120 gig HDDWD 80 gig HDDTwin WD 160 gig SATA HDDsSB Audigy 2ATI Radeon X850 Pro 256CH Products USB Yoke, Pedals, Throttle QuadWindows XP Pro SP2
  18. You also mention a 550 watt power supply, but is it a good quality one or just a generic one that came with the case? And even if it is a quality psu, how old is it? I ask because I have had problems in the past that were the results of a quality power supply that simply could not keep up with the demands of the system because it was just old. I would first do as the others have said above and make sure you're not overheating the video card. Once that is checked off, if you still have the problems, I'd take a good look at the power supply.ChuckC-130E/H/H1 Flight EngineerDyess AFB, TXAMD 64 3700+ASUS A8V Deluxe 1.0 gig DDR400 Corsair TwinX 3200XLC2ProWD 120 gig HDDWD 80 gig HDDTwin WD 160 gig SATA HDDsSB Audigy 2ATI Radeon X850 Pro 256CH Products USB Yoke, Pedals, Throttle QuadBelkin Nostromo n52Windows XP Pro SP2
  19. To answer the other part of your question, Polar and Atlas both fly 744Fs as well as older 747-200s. There are probably more, but not sure which. The easy thing to do is to go to PMDGs site, go to downloads and then the 744F section. All of the textures currently available will be there and that should give you an idea of who flies them.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/html/downloads/747F.htmChuckC-130E/H/H1 Flight EngineerDyess AFB, TXAMD 64 3700+ASUS A8V Deluxe 1.0 gig DDR400 Corsair TwinX 3200XLC2ProWD 120 gig HDDWD 80 gig HDDTwin WD 160 gig SATA HDDsSB Audigy 2ATI Radeon X850 Pro 256CH Products USB Yoke, Pedals, Throttle QuadBelkin Nostromo n52Windows XP Pro SP2
  20. Well, I missed out on the editing period or else I would have deleted the post entirely except for the thanks for your work. 21. Terry,First of all a big thanks for all that you do to enrich our simming experience with your work. I have been a happy user of your data for as long as you've made it available. Having said that, I was wondering if you could take a look at the data for EGLL. Myself and two of my friends flew from EGLL to VHHH in the new PMDG 744F and when we started up at EGLL, it gave a runway error code 5 after loading the flight plan. We all had 27L programmed as part of the flight plan through FSBuild. Anyway, after loading, we got the error but continued on as the ND showed the runway anyway. We also noticed that there were no SIDs available to us from the ARR/DEP page of the FMC either. I will freely admit that I am a complete moron when it comes to editing these procedure files, that is why I decided to come to you since it is your procedures I have loaded. Thanks again for your great work!ChuckC-130E/H/H1 Flight EngineerDyess AFB, TXAMD 64 3700+ASUS A8V Deluxe 1.0 gig DDR400 Corsair TwinX 3200XLC2ProWD 120 gig HDDWD 80 gig HDDTwin WD 160 gig SATA HDDsSB Audigy 2ATI Radeon X850 Pro 256CH Products USB Yoke, Pedals, Throttle QuadBelkin Nostromo n52Windows XP Pro SP2
  22. Hey Paul,I would be very interested in hearing your impressions of this new scenery. Undoubtedly, it will be vastly superior to Simflyers' but I'd like to get an idea of how smooth it is, since I am not much of an FPS hound. But it does have to be smooth, and of course, I wanna hear all about the eye-candy!Thanks,ChuckC-130E/H/H1 Flight EngineerDyess AFB, TXAMD 64 3700+ASUS A8V Deluxe 1.0 gig DDR400 Corsair TwinX 3200XLC2ProWD 120 gig HDDWD 80 gig HDDTwin WD 160 gig SATA HDDsSB Audigy 2ATI Radeon X850 Pro 256CH Products USB Yoke, Pedals, Throttle QuadBelkin Nostromo n52Windows XP Pro SP2
  23. My mistake fellas. It seems that the picture I saw in the screenshot forums was not of the 744F but a repaint for the 744. I purchased the 744F last night and sure enough the GSS livery is missing the last 's' in Systems as you all have said. I am certain though that this will be corrected as time allows.ChuckC-130E/H/H1 Flight EngineerDyess AFB, TXAMD 64 3700+ASUS A8V Deluxe 1.0 gig DDR400 Corsair TwinX 3200XLC2ProWD 120 gig HDDWD 80 gig HDDTwin WD 160 gig SATA HDDsSB Audigy 2ATI Radeon X850 Pro 256CH Products USB Yoke, Pedals, Throttle QuadBelkin Nostromo n52Windows XP Pro SP2
  24. Hi,I have been away from my FS computer for a while now as I have been away from home. Anyway, I don't have the 744F yet, but I did take a look at a screenshot on the Screenshot forum of the 744F in GSS livery and at least on the right side, it does indeed say Global Supply Systems... I will be back home tonight and will be taking delivery of the 744F if the validator is working again. I will install the GSS livery and confirm.ChuckC-130E/H/H1 Flight EngineerDyess AFB, TXAMD 64 3700+ASUS A8V Deluxe 1.0 gig DDR400 Corsair TwinX 3200XLC2ProWD 120 gig HDDWD 80 gig HDDTwin WD 160 gig SATA HDDsSB Audigy 2ATI Radeon X850 Pro 256CH Products USB Yoke, Pedals, Throttle QuadWindows XP Pro SP2
